The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: My Final and overall view on the G3.

I know it can be annoying multiple threads, but I wanted this to be a fresh and a conclusion lol

My last one obviously lol

No no, this must not be your last conclusion. You are a dab hand at reviewing so let's have another conclusion after the first fortnight!

Cheers just expressing my personal opinion & experience with the G3, and to try and keep it balanced.

I will keep that in mind :-)

Right just thought I would weigh in as some negativity is surrounding and potential adopters may be put off, based on daft posts, when otherwise they might of enjoyed had they not listened.

I like to keep it as balanced as I can, and not let my opinions sway a decision.

Its up to the people to take what they want from what I say.

I can't slate any flagship this year, S5 has its good points but wasn't my phone of choice, the M8 is another great device and has solid features, oppo and one plus one.

Every phone will have a negative or negatives for some.

Example screen is to small or large, I like removable batteries or that doesn't bother me, I prefer amoled over LCD ect ect.

But to state the G3's screen is poor is wrong, you may not like it as you may prefer Amoled and over saturated colours, or the M8 set up, yes they all adopt different technics and screens will vary.

Yes its OK not to like the G3, but then why post, if I don't like something example I'm not keen on iOS but I don't jump on apple forums to state it.

If one is experiencing issues that's fine, but for me as a tech enthusiast I respect all OEM's but I do believe that some listen more carefully than others and therefor produce a product that gets a bit more respect than the other.

To end this the G3 is one product that Lg have placed time and effort into and that shows in the screen, build & the way they used the materials, the Ui and features.

If you don't like it wow there is plenty of choice.

But the G3 is one great product like it or not.

Yessssssss! Love this post.

LG G3 My UHD video test.

So there are threads on temperature warnings.

I thought I would do a short test to see if the G3 would get hot and or force close.

So UHD allocates 5mins and I let it run the duration.

Battery area remained cool to touch.

Around the optics got warm after 2 and a half minutes and didn't go beyond warm.

Around front at the earpiece got warm but never hot.

Battery was at 30% before test and 25% after.

There were zero warnings or force closures.

All was well :-)

Actions not words, my way of doing things too.
Do you know, it's beginning to look as if the LG company knows how to design and build smart phones. That's going to annoy some people.

Of all the reports of this that and the other I am only experiencing one and that is a tiny bit of lag, that will be fixed I'm sure.

Other than that the G3 performs well in all other aspects :-)

Yes Lg do know how to build a premium smartphone.

Lg G3 2/16gb

Well as many will know this is the variant released in the UK.

While initially I was a bit miffed at this and yes I would still like the 3/32gb.

There is no performance issue's to report other than tiny lag in the app drawer. I'm sure this will be rectified in an update.

I'm not a gamer so huge internal storage is not all that important as it does have a micro SD slot.

So anyone in the UK thinking of a G3 and are maybe put off by this, don't be unless your a gamer and you require the minimum 32gb internal.

Then the 2/16gb is still a strong performer and I have had no issue's other than the one slight bit of lag mentioned above.

Enjoy the G3 everyone :-)

Re: Lg G3 2/16gb

Strange that the 3/32gb has been the most reported as having performance related issue's.

I'm being honest no hiccuping here (and no doubt I have just jinxed myself lol)

Seriously for my usage jumping in and out of apps, media, photography, web browsing mainly (I don't game) like mentioned above all is well.

Hope your niggles are now rectified or will be in updates which I'm sure Lg will be releasing.

And if its just aesthetics and or software that you cant get used to or don't like (atleast you tried it out) and there are and will be other available choices (that will also have niggles lol)

Again Enjoy the G3

Well approaching the 2wk mark now and...

No overheating

No signal dropouts

No imperfections in build

No camera defects

Now no lag

No battery issue's

Screen is superb

Sorry for being a tad glad and a bit over the moon.

That I'm not experiencing any issue's

I must be one of the fortunate ones :-)

OK just an idea as to give fellow adopters of the G3 a ratings chart type thing.

Score as you wish and be honest and don't jump on anyone who may score low its balanced and your entitled to your opinions or scores rather.

So here are mine..

Screen 9/10 I appreciate Amoled but the IPS has a nice smoothness and I like the toned down colours.

Battery 8/10 its no Z2 but it holds up nicely and gets me through a day of moderate to heavy use.

Ui 8/10 I quite enjoy what Lg have done with the skin and its a very decent effort, not perfect, but its nice.

Speaker 7/10 I got used to the front facing of the Z2 but the placement on the back of the G3 well was the only way to keep those thin bezels, its better than most and has a decent balance.

Signal 8/10 its been the same as any other phone I have owned and perhaps maybe slightly better.

Build & design 9/10 to get this 5.5" screen into this form is what stood out before the screen itself, the plastics have been used in a great way and the G3 feels premium.

Camera 8/10 laser auto focus is great and the minimalistic approach to the app helps with the point and shoot aspect and the G3 takes great photos.

Features 7/10 liking knock code, and the customisation also things like guest mode, dual window, the ability to set a button for the notification dropdown are good.

Performance 8/10 The G3 runs well and handles everything with ease, but I have experienced lag in the app drawer scrolling.

Overall I would rate the G3 9/10 its a very refined and thought out smartphone.

Re: The fortunate one/ones

I'm very impressed. The last few phones I've owned have all had some sort of hardware issue. The two M8's I went through had very loose volume and power buttons, my Z2 had a very noticeable gap on the upper right that annoyed the **** out of me, my note 3 had a misaligned home button and camera.... The list goes on and on.

I pretty much have no qualms with the build of the G3.
