The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: European Update

She's already warm while charging and I don't want to make her run hot by using at the same time. Don't actually know whether she would mind you. Often do that with Nexus 5 and that's okay.

I'm not meaning to sound like ohh my device is flawless (its not) but I haven't in 3wks of doing this noticed any high temperatures, in fact with my use, web browsing, YouTube, photo's, video, I just get warm, but that's normal.

Wonder why there is so much variation on this?

Re: European Update

What I'm talking about is nervous-pervous warm...nothing like hot. I guess that heat during use depends on what you're asking of the processor, and it just so happens that my phone use never makes great demands in that respect.
If I have my Lumia 1020 camera on for a fairly lengthy photo session, it'll get pretty warm, but not the sort of almost-too-hot-to-touch heat that some phone users report.
The N5 has I think never been prone to anything more than slight warmth...with my phone use, at any rate.
I remember you testing the G3's video and reporting no heat problem after a 5min shoot, if I recall right. The next time there's a steam train passing through...every few weeks where I live...I'll give the video a try.

That's right thought I would really push it and see if shooting in UHD for the allocated 5mins would get it hot. But to my amazement warm is all it got, around the optics and front, at 2 1/2 minutes.

I do watch a lot of video and yes it gets warm not denying that would be a fool to say its perfect but no hot to touch and no slowdowns ect.

Suppose yes depends on the way you use it and how taxing you are on the processor.

Hmmm that's debatable lol jokes aside yes its an issue that I'm sure Lg will want to remedy and fast before a return rate happens :-)

But how many is affected?

Like you mine is sharp, no not sharp hmm bad choice of words lol its perfectly fine text is clear :-)

Re: Interesting

The sharpening effect is only occasionally noticeable. For example, hit your back buttons, choose Forums top left, open Forums, and look at the text describing the different forum categories. Perhaps try different brightness settings. It seems to me I can just see whitish haloes round the black text, which I don't get when viewing the same on my Nexus 5. Not troublesome to me personally, but I guess this is what some users are complaining about.

See anything?

Nope nothing tried various brightness levels and nothing that resembles the picture in that article

Re: Interesting

Okay, open your Email app and look at the titles. I stress that this is something which is hardly noticeable...the example in the link looks far worse than what I'm seeing, or think I'm seeing. I also stress that I'm not criticising...the only thing I really want to say about the G3, and have elsewhere, is that it's a wonderful phone, and giving me endless enjoyment.

Re: Interesting

This is why I returned mine. Got a cheap new in box G2 and couldn't be happier...until the next Nexus or Note 4 lands, that is.

Also, I hate m.website.com links. Here's the proper article:

LG G3 screen sharpening effect draws user complaints | Pocketnow

You found it that bad? Some users are unaware of it and others can't live with it....I wonder whether it varies in degree from one specimen of the phone to another.
Don't forget, the N6 may be made by LG and may have the same type of QuadHD display...perhaps even the same as the G3's. For me that would be very welcome but for some users I suppose not.

My G3 is not effected or I need my eyes tested as I can't see what is being described.

Either way all is good here :-)

Thought this would be and overall QHD panel issue that most if not all would suffer from.

But some have it worse than others and some are not seeing it.

Re: European Update

It's the update to software version V10e-EUR-XX, haven't spotted any differences so far but then, I haven't been using much...if I notice anything of interest, I'll post.

Sorry for the redundant details, I was under the impression you couldn't download it.

I can download but it stated "this device is suspect of rooting" and that it could not install, but clearly the software is matched but still an old build no hmmm strange.

Re: European Update

My build number is the same as yours except for the last seven digits...where yours says 198xxxx, mine says 479xxxx. I suppose you've walloped yours several times like me, to bring up developer options...though in my case I don't yet feel ready to explore these options.

Yea I have enabled developer options although as yet I have not had any need to use them other than switching to Art but have since reverted back to dalvik as Xposed won't work on Art.

If android L gets pushed then I won't go beyond root.

Eg Custom recovery and ROMs for now I'm holding off (its early days for developers) as I want to unroot when (Android L) is released.
