The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: Laser Autofocus

You just hop into your camera app, three vertical dots just press that, the shutter and everything else will disappear.

Enabling you to tap to shoot :-)

You have no idea how much I was trying to figure this out last night, lol! Thanks buddy! :)

Re: Laser Autofocus

Re: Laser Autofocus

Well.... the laser focus is such a great feature that I am surprised that it took so long for someone to put it in their phones. I guess there were other issues in play.... now that the sensors are starting to get a lot better and the quality of the top flight phones is at the point where they can compare to the point & shoot rigs that people USED to buy for heavy lifting, they could move on to other things... like laser focus and the mythical optical zoom (without the wicked huge telescoping lens that is).

But laser focusing is so much better than contrast detection. Before I read into the G3's stuff, I never really knew how the other cams focused and never really bothered to look into it though... what I DID know is that those cameras spent a lot of time hunting for focus. And sometimes I'd see my picture focus only to re-focus into a blurry shot. So now I know WHY they tweaked out on occasion.

So a direct measurement of range is awesome.

I do get a kick out of the fact that LG built the rig by using the laser range finder off an autonomous vacuum cleaner they had in their inventory.

That's funny. When I was in the Verizon store before I bought my G3, I was trying to figure out how to get the shutter button on as it seemed to have been set to "touch the screen" by default for taking pictures. This was annoying and I must have not seen the three dots at the time. (mesmerized by the beautiful 5.5" screen?)

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

Sold my Note3 for $565 to buy my G3 and I'm not going back ;)

Before today, I thought the 3 dots simply removed all the options from the screen, nothing more, lol! I would press it again because I thought , "How the HELL am I going to take a pic without the shutter button"?!? lol! :D

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

y do u need a 32GB when u can jus grab a SD card

Because its better/safer/more efficient to simply place your apps/app data in your internal memory for quicker response and less likelihood of encountering read/write errors. Having bigger internal storage allows the user to carry more apps and large space hogging games. SD cards are great for carrying everything else such as music, movies, personal files, etc..

So to wrap things up.....
Internal storage = Apps and App data
SD Card = Music, Movies/videos, personal files, e-books, etc..! Should be regarded as your backpack of digital media!

Re: Glad your all enjoying your G3

I had a horrible dream last night, that my G3 was failing, there were bits of loose pie crumbs inside the display, which was also shrinking. There was nothing I could do about it and I knew it would soon be finished.
The relief on waking! No pie crumbs! No shrinking!

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

no it equals secure phone

It depend on your perspective.
KNOX added voiding your warranty completely for even attempting to tamper with the firmware on the phone.

I'll forever pass on Samsung.

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

I came from the Note3 and didn't have many issues with it. I really like the G3, but the radios are sub par as compared to the N3. I ran them side by side and there was a noticeable difference in the db signal of the N3. The Note line has better radios than the S line from what I have experienced.

The other issue with the G3 is the BT system. I had also tried the G2 and it had the same issues. When connecting multiple devices to the G3 the audio becomes very poor in quality through my headset. This was never an issue with the N3.

It will be a tough choice for me and it will depend on how much of an upgrade the N4 is. I will also consider the iPhone 6 5.5, but in reality I am pretty committed to the Android ecosystem at this point. The G3 seems to be the perfect size so I'm hoping an update or 2 could address the few issues it does have. I also really like the buttons on the rear.

Bottom line is I don't know yet.

It should be worded sub par in your experience. I can compare like you as I had the G3 & N3 side by side before I sold the N3.

I noticed the opposite and the G3's were marginally better from the little time I had to compare.

I will be purchasing the Note 4 out of interest and to compare it against the G3.

But as soon as the G4 is released then the Note 4 will be sold most definitely lol

Re: Who is keeping the G3? or Selling to aquire the Note 4?

I think Samsung's issue is Apple and they need to focus more on what customers want instead of trying to focus on gimmicks to outdo the iPhone.
