The Nexus 6 is the best android flagship phone you can buy.

I am new to Android and after much research and talking with many Android users I opted for the N6 as my first Android phone. Why not start at the top? I gave up iOS and haven't regretted it like some said I would. I love the size. Big enough to make for easier reading but still pocketable.

The Nexus experience is probably the easiest to adapt to after having an iPhone.

Wow man. Kudos to you. Had a Galaxy S6 Active for 12 days and took it back and ordered Nexus 6 off Amazon in time to switch. ZERO regrets. The GS6 Active is awesome hardware. Garbage software. Nexus 6 is amazing software and way above good enough hardware to last me at LEAST until the next Nexus drops.

Head on over to the Nexus 2015 forum in Upcoming Devices, I posted a few videos about a couple Huawei phones for reference in case of a Huawei Nexus phablet.

I completely agree about the Active. Loved the battery life and camera. Hated the occasional jank lag and fact that I wouldn't get push notifications when the phone was in deep sleep. The Nexus 6 should hopefully last me until I see the next Nexus or Moto X. Samsung really needs to figure out how to get the best performance with all that horsepower. It's like a Ferrari with a flat tire.

I'm actually kind of mad at myself for not picking up this device when it launched. I chose to get the iPhone 6 Plus, then Note 4, and I have been back and forth with those two devices since late last year. I skipped on the Nexus 6 because I heard there horror stories about the back plate coming off, Nexus logo peeling, and a bevy of software issues. So dumb. This phone is awesome and u would have saved a lot of money if I had just gone with it from the beginning.

It's funny how reviewers who frowned on it for various reasons at launch have praised the Nexus 6, now that it's "aged". I guess the updates it's received, coupled with the SD 810 problems have helped people change their tune.

Not with Jerry on this one at all. flagship pricing for a middling camera, an increasing influence over updates by carriers unlike earlier nexus phones, and access to early updates that don't sort out issues until you would've received the update from an OEM phone anyway.

It may have been slightly overpriced at first, but they can be had now for around $479 new. That's a VERY good price for what you're getting. "Middling camera" suggests average. What's wrong with average? I didn't realize most people are aspiring professional photographers and analyze the minutia of every photo. To me, subject matter is WAY more important than being able being able to put a photo under a microscope and have it be technically perfect. People are being way too picky needlessly.

Btw, I went to college and majored in photography and even I don't care as much as Joe Six Pack does about "quality". I try to get great subject matter and enjoy the photos for what they are, not to analyze the photo to death. If you want pro results, get a good DSLR.

Btw, I agree with Jerry 100%. Even if I was a millionaire and could afford any phone on the planet, the Nexus 6 would be my choice. The software experience is second to none.

I agree with you completely. What smartphone can do as far as performance and functionality is far beyond what the average person needs or even wants. And I'm included in this. Before camera phones, I took pictures with disposable cameras only. I never owned a real camera. The pictures that my BlackBerry 9700 took were fantastic to me. So anything coming out now is perfectly fine. As far as sorted of the device, my Nexus 5 ran 5.1.1 perfectly. Had no issues whatsoever. So this smartphone of going to be good for some time. The only thing I wish it did was record 1080p in 60 fps. That's it. But the Nexus 6 had been a dream.

You and me both. I've flip flopped between 4 different Android phones and a couple of 6 Pluses since this Nexus came out. I've blown through so much money because I was afraid of what I had heard about this phone. It's a great phone and I wish I just stuck with it a long time ago. Pretty sure I'm just sticking to stock Android from here on out. This with a nice Chromebook and I'm good.

Live and learn. Now all you need is Ubuntu on a nice desktop, and you're the complete rebel! ;)

I think if more people actually tried the Nexus 6, they would like it. Once you get used to uncluttered android and the speed it brings, it's hard to use anything else with skins, tweaks and overlays. It's all that extra stuff that causes lag and stutter. I want android as Google intended. I don't want Samsungs, or anyone else's vision of what android should be. Until Google's (Pure) Android fails me, I'll keep using it.

Completely agree. I hope they never do away with the Nexus program.

You know I've had both the nexus 4 and 5 loved them both but the 6 is just way too big. And even after all these generations they still don't have a decent camera! I'm hoping that this year's Nexus is back down to the 5 inch form factor

I really like the camera on my Nexus 6. So I'm not sure what your issues are but I like mine.

Well to be honest when I heard 6 inch phone I never even gave the Nexus 6 a look so I have no first hand experience on the phone. I'm just going by what reviewers are saying about the camera and from what I've heard from multiple sources the camera us not that great.

That's your first mistake. Have to try the phone first. People have differing opinions about everything.

I never looked at Nexus line before until I heard nexus 6 was a 6 inch screen ;)

I am now hooked and will never go back to any none vanilla android phones. I was a Samsung note user for years.

I'll agree on the size. I'm not a huge guy and this thing can be a bit hard to handle from time to time. And the camera takes great pictures. They aren't as good as the S6, but they are great and definitely usable. The only problem is that it's sometimes slow to launch initially or slow to take a picture.

That's so strange, that's exactly me.
