The Official "I Got My Nexus S" Thread

I don't even understand the appeal of this phone. It's the same hardware tmobile had over a year ago.. Why not just buy the EVO?

Here hot shot...

The Nexus S was demonstrated by Google CEO Eric Schmidt on November 15, 2010 at the Web 2.0 Summit. Google officially announced the phone on their blog on December 6, 2010. The phone became available for purchase on December 16th in the US and on December 22nd in the UK.

We are allowed to sell the phone in the retail stores on a reactive basis. So if you come into the store and ask I can sell it. I can't tell you that you can buy it.

check your facts, idiot

Okay so the hardware is 7 months old (November of 2011) and not a year old. I apologize. My point is with how fast everything is moving with the different SoC and processors why would you want something that isn't the latest/greatest?

Reviews are out and the phone has been tested. It's good

It's better than my Pre

It's available on Sunday (for most of us)

The evo 4g has ok to bad battery who knows what the 3d will have
The Nexus S has good to ok battery
The Pre has 3 dollar batteries on amazon so having 3 batteries is annoying but worked

Nexus is on 2.3.3 and when the next version comes out it will be on that and then the next, without waiting for HTC to update sense...

These are just a few of the reasons

Not even comparable devices. I can tell you personally that the reasons I would get the Nexus over an EVO.
-Better Screen
-Vanilla OS
-Android 2.3
-Better battery life
-Sexier design
-I know I will get the latest update

I have the Pre too, and my girlfriend as well. I think I may really miss the keyboard..

Are any of you that were able to get your phones today in California? I will check my store this afternoon.

Can anyone confirm if the OS is version 2.3.3 or 2.3.4? I would think it would be shipped with 2.3.4?

Also anyone tried any sprint stores in Charlotte, NC? I'm at work so i cant give a full 100% effort to call the stores.

By your logic, the EVO is over a year old, so why would you be recommending that?

Just got off the phone with my local Sprint store and they are able to sell it to me this afternoon!!! :D (FYI, I am located in the Chicagoland area)

I think he was asking why we are not waiting for the EVO 3D not the EVO. I can understand his point about the hardware being 7 months old. Here is my thinking. Technology moves super fast. I can tell you that by the time the EVO 3D comes out there will be something better coming down the pipeline. The nexus has everything I need and still has a nice hummingbird processor a Super AMOLED screen and plenty of storage space. I don't need 3D on my phone. The dual core processor would be nice but its not needed for me.
