I can SO relate to that. I was the first pre-order at my local BB. When the called to schedule the appointment, I chose the first slot available, 8:00 am. As soon as Sprint announced the launch date, I scheduled the day off from work. I've been playing with the phone and loading apps ALL DAY.

I am really glad I got the early appointment. I stopped by work and was showing my co-workers the new toy. One of them was scheduled for a 12:30 appointment at BB. So, I rode with him. By then, the Sprint system was so overwhelmed with people activating that his appointment took 2 hours!

But holy carp! This phone is so FRAKKIN' worth it!!

Had mine in hand at 9 30 am from the Sprint store...after chewing out best buy at my 6 30 am appointment for being lying weasels and not price matching sprints price to buy the phone outright after assuring me a bunch of times that they would..

Got mine today after a 2.5 hour process at Best Buy. First both of their activation systems were slowing to a crawl and would cease to work before the activation. Then they attempted to activate over the phone but were unable to get through to the NSS line for quite some time. Even showed up for my appointment 30 minutes early...

kvaughan, sounds like we had the same scenario.

I showed up for my 10am appointment only to find the 8:30 guys were just sitting down! !!

Since I'm porting over my number from a VOIP service, my Sprint access isn't up yet, but I've already been molesting the Market and apps with my Wi-Fi connection.

I freaking LOVE this phone!

Rarely have I been so excited about new tech, and I usually have some disappointment issues after I have it in-hand.... NOT the case with the EVO. It's passed my expectations even WITHOUT Sprint service!

Radio Shack couldn't get my upgrade to go through, now I'm stuck with a 50 GC.

Called Sprint, they said I had to buy from the store. Went to the store at 1130, 1145 walked out with my new EVO. In addition to the MIR I also got an account credit of $100 so I can't complain I suppose
