The official "Thank you, Samsung!" thread

Thanks Samsung, for doing your jobs: poorly, without any feedback to the consumer, and it took you SEVEN MONTHS to do the job HTC was able to do on the Evo in three. Congrats, enjoy a pat on the back - you've earned it.

*rollseyes*

p.s. indie devs > your entire paid, professional software team

Still have yet to put it on my phone, but just wanted to chime in and say thanks Samsung. After seeing all the new goodies you've been creating, I thought for sure you were going to take a serious dump on us by saying "No official Froyo anymore... It's time to move on..."

So thanks, for not dumping on us.

P.S. I don't even wanna know IF, and HOW LONG, Gingerbread will take to get to this device.

Lol by the time they get gingerbread on this phone my free upgrade will be available and I can get the new dual core phone(whichever future phone that will be).

If that ever happens. I have a feeling this will be the last. But aleast we got an update. I'm happy with froyo.

Sent from my Epic 4G.

i'm no android guru...this is my first android phone ever. to be honest i was happy with 2.1 since coming from bb it was fresh and new and i didnt know what i was missing with 2.2 but now i see and i am happy with the update...did it flawlessly and had a few issues that were easily corrected from reading on this site and another android site. my phone works great and i was even able to root (my 1st time doing that). so thanks samsung. i'm happy. i do feel for those of you who seriously had to wait for months-especially since you all knew what 2.2 was capable of. for me the waiting was only almost a month as i got my epic towards the end of january.

I'm sorry but this has taken far too long. The Epic is an outstanding phone, powerful, great keyboard, and amazing screen but it's software is behind even mid level droid phones. I got the Epic in September expecting Froyo in October and now it is the end of Feb. I will avoid Samsung in the future and I'm sorry to say this because I really like the Epic.

Thanks for the update. The GPS issue wasn't fun but that is a small price to pay to get the updates.

i am happy it was finally released but i am still waiting for ota. i could do the manual way easily but i want the excitement of seeing the message that an update is available for my phone

Well put. I just saw the Atria for the first time today- I have to admit that the screen looks better than the Epic. A LOT better. I will update my phone in October after one year and pay a little for it, rather than stay with a Samsung product. By then, there will be some seriously awesome phones available on all carriers.

+1

If only Samsung and HTC would merge, then we could have HTC software on Sammy's hardware... *drools*

Thanks to Samsung and Sprint! Long overdue...but here at last. Give us some more updates....add some more goodies to show off to non-Galaxy owners. It's better business for ya!

Thanks to Ragnarokx and other users in this forum, if not for them we would not be running Froyo prior to this long overdue update.

I am NOT impressed with Sprint/Samsung in the way they handled this 2.2 mess.

Posting my thanks to Sammy, leaked/custom builds have shown clear issue that have been resolved in this final version.

Mad props for samsung's unwillingness to put out bad software.
