gonna throw my 2c in here. I am friends with the guy who is over all the store managers for the corporate stores in my area. I ran into him at the pharmacy tonight. I've been bugging him about this phone for MONTHS now, and he always told me he'd tell me when he knew something. Anyway, he told me he was going to call me tomorrow to let me know that Thursday will be the day I can take my unicorn phone home. (that's what we've always called it.) He said that it's going to be "unofficially soft-launched" on Thursday, and that there would probably be hardly any signage up for it. He said it was going to be a very quiet launch, and that I WILL be able to walk in Thursday the 8th and get one. This guy has never steered me wrong...Here's hoping.

EDIT: This guy used to be a store manager and was promoted about a year ago. He now wears a suit and works in a high-rise with the other local VZW big-wigs. He's legit. He also has given me accurate dates for every single device I've been interested in for the last year. He's reliable, so unless he has some bad info, I expect to pick mine up Thursday.

I just spoke with a CS rep over the phone. I asked about the GNex and was put on a brief hold. When she came back she said it would be 12/9 for sure.

I guess we will see.

Based on what my cousin and you said, I do expect it to launch by the weekend at least. However in-store ads, displays, and promotions start next week after launch. Might pay to wait a week after the initial launch to see what deals come out. Anything to offset that 299 price.

Well guys, I broke into a district managers house last night and waterboarded him. He told me it was the 9th, but I don't know if I can trust him. I'll let you know if he says anything else when he regains consciousness.

I dunno if anyone here can afford to wait an extra week waiting on promotions even if it means saving some cash. The stress level in this forum seems pretty high and I wouldnt be surprised if everyone took 2 years off their life expectancy stressing out on this phone release including me. I dont know if saving some cash is worth losing another year.

I threw some chicken bones into a skillet and they told me the launch date would be 12/8. This was confirmed by a Tarot card reading and a quick call to Dionne Warwick's Physic Hotline.

Except they have the buyers guide out and it still said nexus prime, so that shows how much faith you should put in bb lol.

I'm just hoping for a wed preorder if it is launching then. Heck even a preorder tues would be great but I'm not thinking a tues preorder will happen.

I just called my local corp. store in so cal and the guy had to go ask his manager about the phone. Came back and said its releasing Friday but he didnt know the price and went ahead and set up an appointment with me. So hes another guy saying friday- I called this same store yesterday and the guy who answered promptly said its releasing on thurs. morning and to be there early so who knows.

But if I can preorder I will screw the appointment and bus ride and pay $15 to have it shipped next day guaranteed by 10:30 am if they still do that. I cant find it on their website
