Well, lets see, hmmm...

Rampant speculation without reason is beyond ridiculous. It's a phone!! We all want it - nobody more than me, however, my life will go on whether it gets released today, tomorrow or next century. What that poster said makes incredible sense based upon the fact that I know several sales reps (through my company) that have basically told ME the same thing in the same way that the poster JFMFT said. It was the first reasonably intelligent post (besides some of the Mods) that I have seen about this release in several weeks.

I don't need proof that when my gas tank meter says empty that my car will stop running. What JFMFT said makes sense to me - and what I think is the most important thing to me.

True where you work, perhaps, however, having been in two very different regions for a few years each, it has been the norm in my experience. Not sure where you are, but OMM is done at night from everything I've experienced. There have never been hours for any employee to come in before opening and put up signage/marketing. Even when the iPhone launched, it was completed by Apple employees in VZW stores the night before the launch.

It doesn't really matter if they put up the displays for the phones in the mornings or at night at a particular store or set of stores, really. The phone will be here when it's here, and the latest is the 15th coming from corporate. If it doesn't happen, we'll know before then about another delay, and if it does happen, then good for all of us.

Yeah i was at BB Mobile store yesterday and asked about the GN, she said they arent sure if its comming out friday but BB usually gets their phones a few days after they come out.

which would such because i was planning on buying it there with all my gift cards >.<

I'm talking about employees. Verizon NEEDS its employees (managers, for the most part) to know when something is coming out and to have marketing and signage (OMM) prepared for that day.

Verizon doesn't need its customers to be prepared. We are always there, ready to buy. That's not the worry. Verizon doesn't assume to micromanage what its customers think, at all. No company does.

We knew the RAZR was coming because the night before stores were putting up HUGE displays in every corporate store for the RAZR. Even had they not announced a release date, we would have known. They will have to display the Galaxy Nexus in their store at some point, and OMM is always done at night, not in the morning before opening. So drive by your local VZW store the night of the 14th (right at/after close) and walk up to the building. Peek in the windows and see if there are any reps adding the phone to the wall display; there will be.

This is about right for any retail store. Floorsets and sales changes are done at night. Sometimes they will start them toward the end of a business day but usually the bulk of the work gets done after closing.......my wife has been a retail manager for about 15 years now and this is how it has worked at all of her stores.

Agreed - it is now released in the UK and in Canada.....WHATS the DEALIO??!?!? Jeepers - just release the dang thing already!!

You always have the option of purchasing one of those phones. I'm not sure how well it will work though on VZW's system.

Called three different local verizon stores and they all have the phone but confirmed a delay. They dont know why or when the phone will be released.

i called my friends that still work at best buy they confirmed that they only have a few of them but it will be released tomorrow verizon is still not telling me when. On hold again right now with them.

Tentative launch is 12-15-11

Hey guys, I found out late yesterday that the tentative launch date (at least for my chain of stores) is 12-15-11 now. If anything changes in regards to that date I'll try to update quicker! And I apologize if this info has been posted already, I've been very busy and don't have time to rumage through threads right now...

My local store threw that date at me just a little while ago. Two different people said the same date in unison, so they seem to have been informed to some degree.

I remember reading a post in this forum said when a launch is delayed, the system automatically push to next Thursday, which is 15th, and there is a good chance it is before that.

Well, I guess I am not giving any useful / credible information, but passing on the words. I need to vent during this difficult time...

Some are saying that emails are going out that says this though so I'm more inclined to believe that although the system does do that, there was a decision for it to actually be the 15th. That's the date I'm hoping for until they say it won't be then.

I work for one of the top 5 premium retailers for verizon wireless, we were informed late yesterday through email which comes from corp verizon that they plan on releasing by the 15th. Just passing along what I know so far... as always things change lol. That was the intention of this thread, just to give as close of an official update as I can. Generally the info we're given is dead accurate, but if it changes we'll be informed right away again.

Lynnwood Washington mall kiosk. I was making the SR uncomfortable cause I let him know that I knew he had GN's under the counter. When I said I heard it was being released on monday he looked at me weird and said he'd said to much.

So they said "by the 15th?" Meaning it could be released any time from tomorrow up to Thursday?
