Hi all

Im contemplating buying an S7 Edge, but obviously I've seen the reports of the Pink Line issue popping up everywhere.

But as with most things, the internet can blow stuff like this way out of proportion, so I'd be interested to know exactly how common this issue is?

Is it a case of it'll eventually happen, or something fairly infrequent?

I had that problem w/ 3/4(2x S7 edge and S6 edge) phones. First and second time(S6/7 edge) they repaired(free) my phone and the third time(other carrier) took my phone and said "within 24h you'll get your new phone".

I truly believe that it happens if your phone has been dropped. Mine started after a hard drop. (I have also seen this mentioned by others when investigating the issue.)
Nonetheless, it is an issue with the S7 (Edge), but I do not believe it is a huge deal. AT&T replaced my phone with a refurbished one and I have had no problems with it whatsoever.

I currently own three S7 Edge phones. One was a pre-release and the other two are less then six months old. I had a fourth phone that was also a pre-release but I broke the display on it in December.

All four of these phones never had any pink lines.

Same here. Replaced by AT&T, no big deal. And they acted like they had seen it before. So I think it only happens in a small minority of phones, but when you sell that many you're bound to see it sometimes.

I had the problem and Samsung fixed my phone. For whatever it is worth, I don't recall dropping my phone.

No problems now.
