I figured with all of the hate flying around here lately, I would post someone's positive, rational opinion who has spent a lot of time in the Android space.

Opinion: The Pixel 2 XL, despite one big flaw, is still my favorite phone ever

Getting excited for my hopefully issue-free 2XL to arrive.

I agree with him. Maybe I'll change my mind if I begin to see real evidence of burn-in or graininess on my phone, but for now, I'm good. And I'm confident Google will eventually get the display goofiness under control.

Mind you, the BS about misnaming September OTAs as October updates doesn't help to instill confidence, but I'm still optimistic.

It's really snappy, the fingerprint sensor is much faster than the Pixel XL, now similar to the OnePlus 5, the haptic feedback is heaven, the camera is fantastic oh, the first Google phone with water resistance.

Basically, there was one misstep, a big one, but I'm going to keep this phone in spite of it".

Every single phone that comes out...people find an issue and won't let it go.

Nope. And there never will be. We all compromise for the phone we want and will continue to do so forever.

Haptic feedback from what, btw? The only thing I get is a little thrum from the fingerprint sensor when the phone opens.

I love this device. If I have problem, so be it. I have had to replace the last two iPhones I bought at some point for quality issues

No, no, I know. I was just hoping somebody would tell me where the haptic feedback hangs out on the 2 XL cuz I haven't stumbled onto it yet.
