Has anybody thought about the fact that Verizon may need to some extra testing since it's a CDMA/LTE version - the ones already released (plus all the demo models) are all GSM. Maybe they don't want another Thunderbolt mess. Just saying. And I'm sure Verizon is giving Google some money for the exclusivity. I still think it's great that Verizon is getting a Nexus (no Nexus 1 or Nexus S). Does it really matter if Verizon considers Backup Assistant important for customers coming from another Verizon phone and is everybody really wrapped around an axle about the My Verizon app. All you people threatening to quit are just making empty threats because if you were going to switch for a phone you would have left a long time ago for any number of nicer phones on other carriers. Verizon has the Best Voice network, most reliable 3G coverage (notice I didn't say fastest) and most LTE markets. I don't think Verizon is all that worried about the 0.01% of their customers that are on this forum. I think they're going to sell a ton of Razrs and Rezounds (both of which are very nice phones on their own) and I don't think the average Verizon customer will be unhappy with any of the 3 new superphones on Verizon.
In regards to them still testing CDMA/LTE...I thought about it, read about it, but I'm not buying it as the hold up. This reeks of corporate politics and inept product scheduling. I personally don't mind the Dec. 8th date but that's probably because my phone is recent. I can see how others with phones that are falling apart would be frustrated.
I also agree on Verizon's network on being the best. I just can't switch back to AT&T. Their network was unreliable back then and it's unreliable still today (according to three of my family members with loads of dropped calls). Oh yes, almost forgot about my unlimited data. No way am I giving that up.
I am sick and tired of this waiting game. One month later and we still don't have so much as a whisper from Verizon. First the 3rd, then the 7th, then the 11th, 18th, 21st, 28th, now the 8th? THIS IS ABSURD. UTTERLY ABSURD.
And NOW it comes to light that the reason to delay till the 8th is to GET A PIECE OF BLOODY BLOATWARE TO WORK!?!?!?!?
I HAVE HAD IT!
If anyone knows a surefire way to annoy the living hell out of Verizon corporate, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, I'd like to see who else is with me in deeming the Galaxy Nexus their last Verizon phone ever.
Will it be the last nexus device Verizon gets?

But hey, when you buy a car at a dealership, you do get that dealer's name printed SOMEWHERE on it (on the back, on the license plate frames, etc.). How many people are complaining about that all day long?

I find it funny how people get so worked up about dates that are just rumors. I used to work at big red, and I found it freaking hilarious when people got all upset on something that wasn't officaly announced. Iphone? been there, Droid x? Done that. ip5? OMG.
Seriously people need to chill out. Rumors are just that, RUMORS. everything that has been leaked or speculated upon has been just that, SPECULATION!
As someone who anticipated a December release date, I am will be quite happy if the GN is available on 12/8. If waiting a few extra days for a phone (that has never even had an official release date) causes a person so much grief I'd be tempted to say that that person has a pretty warped sense of perspective. Maybe try focusing more on what you have and can control than what you want and cannot control. Just sayin'...

I agree that some posters have been over the top but you're obviously not one of those OG Droid owners anxiously waiting to see if the Nexus drops before the current phone dies.If waiting a few extra days for a phone (that has never even had an official release date) causes a person so much grief I'd be tempted to say that that person has a pretty warped sense of perspective.

As to the subject of this thread, my next phone will be a Nexus of some sort, as will the one after that. Which network that's on is entirely up to Verizon. The Rezound and Razr (lol) aren't worth my consideration.
