The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

So wait, a vz logo on the back instead of Google? Way to keep it classy vz. gee wilikers. Smh
Really? REALLY! Heaven forbid Verizon puts there logo on their phone. Whatever will you do without the Google logo? Surely this phone is no longer a Nexus. Guess we'll have to get a new dream phone now, no google logo breaks this phone for me.

Lol can't you just buy a replacement cover from the GSM version? Hoping that it fits.

Crisis converted?

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I blame Google just as much, if not more than Verizon. They made such a rookie move handing over their best phone with the latest and greatest OS over to Verizon without making sure it is released before, or at least by, the busiest shopping weekend of the year. I might be able to understand this move if it was just a phone, but the fact is its a major upgrade of their OS.....what where they thinking?? If Verizon couldn't commit to releasing it by Black Friday then they should have opened it up to all the carriers. This would put pressure on everyone to release it as quick as possible.

Just food for thought, if it pans out that Oct. 14 was the original launch date for preorders, which got scrapped because of the software issue popped up on radar (i.e. a last minute VzW bloat .apk had a ICS compatability issues). This argument is unfair to level blame in Googles' direction. If that's not the case, blast away.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

All very true. Unfortunately, even the staff here are not above playing the rumor game. Look at the stunt Phil pulled. I think what Phil did was in very poor taste.

For those people who think Phil did anything wrong, can go live in another forum. As Phil stated the information came from a credible source. So in other words this is someone with an inside track who has proven themselves to Phil that the info they give is credible. He also said it was a rumor, which means it was not verified by Verizon as of yet.

Obviously either something happened after the source gave Phil the information or we will see the phone online Monday.

We know everything about the Galaxy Nexus by now, so the only reasons we come to the forums is for some nugget of info surrounding the release date and maybe a new review of the phone.

So with that I say "Thanks Phil!!!" I really appreciate all the staff for this site and all they do, from reporting the news, feeding the rumors, reviewing the phones, maintaining the site, and maintaining the forums. This is and always has been my first stop in the morning to check and see what is going on in the world of Android.

Thanks

Nobody did anything wrong. We chose to believe in these dates because it was better waiting anxiously for verizon to open their mouths.

Just be appreciative these inside guys were able to give some information at all. For all its worth, they could of kept their mouths shut. This includes their early build previews...

Anger with a D, spells...DANGER!!! :p

Remember folks...it's just a phone.

techincally announcing a phone over a month ago with no release is wrong. Take a page from apple's book, announce it and release it a few days ready. You don't announce something if it isn't ready for prime time.

OMG the world is coming to an end since it has a vzw logo on the back. Just but a back from the gsm version if it is such a big deal.

absolutely, Phils reputation speaks for itself. He is not a rumor monger. Obviously in this neck of the interwebs, you may get fed information that doesnt pan out. that doesnt mean it didnt come from a credible sourceor that he didnt way the sources info before releasing. The problem here is not Phil, it is the thousands of other ridiculous unsubstantiated BS "i talked to rep" "my brothers friend" "the samsung rep was at VZW when i went in" stories that people cant seem to withhold from posting!!!!!!!!! for some reason it is hard for people to understand that VZW employees, rep, CSRs are the absolute worst source of info. they know less than us, that is a FACT, not a rumor!!!!

Phil, keep it up! i love your site and forum (most of the time!!) i understand that this is a game of rumors, but i am able to digest yours much better than anyone elses!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I have worked for Verizon Wireless for five years, and get so much entertainment from people like you. Those dates you mentioned? Never been confirmed by Verizon Wireless.

When will people like you ever realize that there are no official dates until the company releases them? And all of this over a phone? I have read the ridiculous threats of porting/leaving because of a phone not being released since the intro of the Blackberry Storm. Use some common sense and realize everything is speculation until the company releases a date.

I like how you overlook the obvious fact that the reason why hogwash like this happens is because your crappy company leaves customers in the dark, releases 100% of it's phones with fudging bloat, every phone I've had from you guys has -sucked- due to your own modifications to the OS. Your 3G is painfully slow and utterly useless for anything except text based webpages.

Now we're on the precipice of you finally releasing one device, just one, that's going to work correctly and you're delaying the launch to install more god damned bloat? To boost sales of the crappy RAZR and rezound? Frankly I don't care what the reason is. All it comes down to is another reason to dislike Verizon for messin' with their customers.

And the entitled, superior attitude displayed by your "entertainment" over your sh!tty company repeatedly frustrating their customers by delaying launches and announcing products without providing release dates just proves that this problem has continued over time without Verizon learning their lesson. Instead they continue to insult their customers' intelligence with these stupid fiascos and bloated phones. The point of a SERVICE BUSINESS is to provide GOOD customer service. Companies that fail to do so deserve to go under, and their smug employees should be out on the street.

The launch of this phone is just the latest in a long line of problems with vzw, and is the smallest of them. It's a "straw that broke the camel's back" situation now. Sick of a company that acts like it's fecal matter doesn't stink cause it's slow 3G network is blanketing a map of the US in red.

This Mod editing is hilarious... Sounds like something a grandparent would tell you

Whoa... serious post there..

But I suppose that in my opinion, as crappy as it is, they really haven't done anything wrong yet with this launch except for not telling a date. In addition despite everyone being upset, as it was mentioned before, we are still going to buy the galaxy nexus right?

I don't work for VZW but I also find all of this outrage aimed at VZW to be very funny and entertaining. People whipping themselves into a frenzy then venting it out on a message board is amusing.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's wrong.

And need I remind you that Verizon said it'd be out by the end of the year? We still have more than a month to go.

Should nothing be announced at CES unless it's immediately available or unless it has a concrete release date that never ever ever ever ever changes?

Then leave and don't come back. Really.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

They've got the best nationwide data service going that no other carrier comes close to matching. As pissed as I am that I still don't have a Nexus in my hands, I can't see punishing myself further by switching to a crappy carrier. The best phone in the worlds sucks if you have lousy service.

When you're the biggest and best you can call your shots. Until customers start walking, Verizon will continue with business as usual.

Sent from my Droid, the only mobile OS that matters.

Actually got something to say to each of the points I made? No?

Then just shut up and spare me the one liners that contribute nothing to the discussion.

Your "points" contribute nothing to discussion. All they are is whining.

The bit about it being delayed because of bloatware? THAT IS NOTHING BUT SPECULATION.

You say they are supposed to provide good customer service? The ONLY official word from Verizon is that they're planning to release the phone by the end of the year. ANYTHING ELSE IS SPECULATION. If they don't meet that, then perhaps they have failed to provide you with the "good customer service" that you want.

You say you're sick of Verizon. Prove it. Leave. Nobody is forcing you to stay.
