The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a random reboot problem and nobody knows why.

My contacts app glitches when I try to edit a contact and I have to force stop it and restart it.

I've had the T-Mobile version for about 11 days now. I have an sd card in mine and I have had no such problems.

My S8+ started doing occasional spontaneous reboots at the moment I used the iris scanner. Previously, the scanner had occasionally failed and not worked again until I manually rebooted. I exchanged for a new S8+, and we'll see if I get the same problem. (I do have an SD card, 256GB Samsung Evo+ from last year's Note 7 promotion. That worked fine in my Note 7s and in my S7e, so I doubt it has anything to do with the problem.)

So now it's having bootloop issues like LG phones do?

Also it seems the Samsung micro SD cards always seem to be causing issues. I've seen post on here talking about their Samsung Micro SD cards dying on them.
My promo 256g card from Samsung from the N7 died on me had to throw it away barely used, was only storing media on it not even keep in the phone

Guess I'll be holding on to my S7 edge for a little while longer till this gets cleared up. No biggie, still loving my S7E

Had mine since release last Thursday and haven't had a single reboot and I've had an sd card mounted since I set it up. I don't have any red tint either so I'm more than happy

Out if the three S8's I have (2 S8+ and 1 S8) my wife's S8+ has restarted twice. Read about sd card could be causing it so I reformatted her sd card to start over. It still had a lot of data from the S7 edge. Will see how it goes. If it does it again will swap it out for a new S8+. Not really worried about it yet.

No unexpected reboot issues here. However, I have had both my S8 (before I swapped it out) and my s8+ freeze while locked... the screen became unresponsive to both touch and button presses, and the only thing that fixed it was a reboot.

My S8+ was having this issue, randomly rebooting a few times a day, and / or having issues reading the SDcard. Icons for apps on the card would be greyed out, or it would unmount / mount itself.

I ended up transferring everything back to internal, formatting the card, and removing it. Hasn't rebooted since.

Pretty widespread, but for me removing the SDcard worked. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed with an update, because I've seen people who exchanged their phones having the same issue.

In general I never get close to using all of the internal memory, but I still want the SDcard to work for saving photos and download movies, so I hope / expect that they'll fix this.

Mine has randomly rebooted twice. Once out of the blue and the other today when trying ot use the VR for the first time. I think today had something to do with Oculus or VR. I have know clue about the other.
