Verizon almost always announces devices on Tuesday to be released the following Thursday. I will be scanning feverishly tomorrow morning for anything.

the date for possible upgrade finally arrived. And as much as i enjoyed the research on the TB there are some simple differences between the TB and Charge that i'll wait for the Charge.
One item on the wish list that turned out to be _the_ feature that changed my vote was being able to go out a physical HDMI port on the Charge. I could get around the poor battery issue with the TB easy enough... but having to mod my home electronics to include a DLNA hub was a bit more cumbersome.

Didn't the Thunderbolt just show up on a Thursday, without any Tuesday announcements earlier in the week?
No announcement, while not encouraging, may not be definitive. We might still see the Samsung Charge on Thursday.
Just a pointless rant... but I figure I might as well do something while I wait...

4g: check
1ghz processor: check
4.3" screen: check
I used to lurk in the TB forums several weeks before launch and there were lots and lots of ppl making lots and lots of threads pleading for "When the !@#@ is the @#$# Thunderbolt gonna get here.
Heck there was one thread in there by some verizon corporate employee that went like 3-4 thousand posts in a few days.
The TB forum had at least 2 or 3 pages of threads before launch.
We are still on our first page, and this be the biggest thread here, with 70 posts by maybe 10 ppl.
Why the so underwhelming response to this phone, both here and on the web?
Any thoughts on this situation?

Perhaps the TB debacle put people off of asking and trolling the tubes for information about a phone. Personally I too was heavily in wanting the TB but as time went on I saw the fact of it being an meh device. So I wait for the SG2 sometime 2Q or 3Q or whenever 
Lets be real here the as far as the population that frequents android sites Samsung has become a 4 letter word. For those of us that love it we will ignore naysayers. i have had the TB for a couple days its a good phone as it should be for being a newer phone. But i keep finding more and more bugs that are really annoying such as notifications that will not go away , and its inability to consistanly show me new notifications...etc.
for all the faults of my fascinate everything that i needed to work on a daily basis worked and smoothly at that.
People were so busy worrying about updates that they stopped enjoying what they had.
The complaints poured in and that spread to non samsung owners whether or not they gave the phone a chance and now like i said earlier its a 4 letter word.
I'm not worried about updates. i just want a phone that im happy with.

I think Samsung has damaged their image with the lack of updates for their phones. Why purchase a new device when users knows it's not going to be updated in a timely manner? I on the otherhand, I am more interested in this device over the TB. I think it's the best 4G device that will be available in the market.

I do believe Verizon made an official announcement on that Tuesday before the TB release.

I really hope some thoughtful higher up corporate person at Samsung would look at forum trends, (I believe it mirrors real world trends) and realize how damaging word of mouth can be.
And actually do something, ie bring out updates in a timely manner.
This is apparently blowing hot air as sam is content in status quo. They had many months to bring out froyo to my fascinate. Nothing in sight.
This phone will rock, and we WILL have ammunition to fire at any other 4g phone on VZW. If anything the charge has killer hardware, and its easier to fix bad software than it is to fix bad hardware.

I was just reading under rumored devices under the Verizon Stock Android LTE phone thread and Black Man X clarified the poem written earlier and had this to say,
"I was actually speaking about a couple of units, one 3g and one running LTE. Both have been delayed and may end up skinned like the rest. I would actually advise anyone looking to get a device to go one year on a charge or thunderbolt. The Sony play is about stock but specs are rather lacking for a long two year commitment."
He also said to tune in soon for an update for more info on Charge Bionic and the like on his blog at Rants, Opinions and the confessions of a Tech addict… | "I am neither a fanatic nor a dreamer. I am a black man who loves peace, and justice, and loves his people." ~Malcolm X~
So does that mean we should expect the Charge this week then?

Yeah BMX is pretty reliable but i wouldnt take what he said as end all be all. That does seem promising though.
OK. I'm home and as usual, I check the boards to see if there might have been something mentioned while I was on my commute. I see that it's not the case. I guess I'll keep waiting...
