Anyone feeling optimistic about a release tomorrow??

nope , havnt seen any commercials and have not heard any announcements or press releases from samsung or verizon. This is a droid after all, they will want exposure .

Shoot, I REALLY want to be optomistic about it.
I'm sure Phil has some inside scoop and his resources must be way better than a regular person, so I would like to go on his statement.
However he did say tentative in bold, and I believe he made a prediction on the TB release and was wrong.

I will be hopeful, but totally accepting of it NOT releasing tomorrow. If it isn't, hope its on Thursday.

Does hopeful and optomistic mean the same? lol

Everyone was wrong about the TB. And wrong several times. I wouldn't count that against anyone. The delays were unexpected and out of anyone's control.

And when someone says tentative they mean just that. Nothings for sure or written in stone. That was just a light heads up, "Hey maybe on Monday but not for sure".

Definitely expect more buzz and information surrounding a release. Sunday was waaaaay too quiet for a Monday release. And likewise, if we don't hear anything by Wednesday afternoon, don't expect a Thursday release.

I'm anxious to get this phone. So I'm figures crossed for this Thursday

I work at a Wal-Mart Connection Center (Cell phone sales) in Central Florida and yesterday I saw that they had the Charge in our system and the print out said it was to be priced at $298.88 with a 2 year contract or 2 year upgrade, and was $700 full retail. The system didn't say when it was going on sale and we hadn't received any handsets when I left. I only work weekends so won't hear anything more until then.

My question, for me, is do I jump on it as soon as it comes out or wait a month or so (more waiting...) and see if the sales (or lack thereof) drives the price down a bit...

Though, and i know none of us lay-people have a crystal ball on this, i don't want to "wait" so long i miss out on jumping aboard an unlimited plan with V. I also know my area on the Oregon Coast will not have 4G for many months and probably a couple years, so i'm even toying with the idea of a new generation 3G phone.

I agree. I plan on waiting until they announce the date that unlimited plans will no longer be an option, as I don't think either the Thunderbolt or the Charge are worth their price considering they still leave a lot to be desired and would rather see something better come along. Unless of course they release the Galaxy S2 with LTE, or perhaps the Droid Bionic makes it after all, I'd likely be one of the first in line. Even if not, however, I won't wait until I lose the option for unlimited data.

@droidlanding just tweeted the dsc is operational, could that stand for droid samsung charge? Or am I just wishful thinking?

I certainly hope its coming soon and on its rumored release of 4/28. I really want an AMOLED screen, and well this is Super AMOLED Plus so this is what ive decided to grab. I still plan on grabbing another hopefully duel-core phone in oct when our family plan has a second upgrade available. By then there should be some really nice phones out. Until then this will satisfy me greatly im sure.

Does Verizon release 2 top tier phones on the same day? I ask because the Inc2 sure looks like the 28th.

They might be just releasing multiple phones to please the while crowd. So far there seem to be 2 set for official releases, The Incredible 2 and the Casio Commando. I called into verizon sales today to talk to a rep about upgrading and blah blah. He asked if he could help me over the phone and i said im waiting for the droid charge he said he's heard tuesday and or thursday of course still rumors and not official but it still seems like it could be a 4/28 as someone posted a thread about the training and demoing going on 4/27. So hopefully we can see this device on 4/28. We shall see.

My plan is to wait for the release and read people's reviews of the unit, specifically battery life, before I take the plunge over the weekend. I have patiently waited for this to come out and another couple of days won't kill me. Ultimately, I know that having the phone in hand and putting it through it's paces will be the true test, but I will still be very curious to hear what people have to say about the battery life.
