What is a "limited period of time"? a week? couple of days?

Best Buy HAS made a few phones available a few days before Verizon did. But it was just a few days ahead ... a week max.

Yeah, but didn't they get in trouble for that. Droid Pro?

I think we'll hear an announcement on Tuesday for a Thursday release. They don't need a full week to announce since the phone has already been reveled. Just a thought.

That is possible. Verizon has done that before with Fascinate and Droid 2 ... both high-end android phones.

I didn't really get into it with her because it seemed a little far fetched to me. I really just went in to see if they had any demo TBs so I could check out the look and feel of it. She was extremely talkative (They weren't busy so she was probably bored.) and at least I found out the 4G towers are up and being tested in my area. Pretty much the only good thing I got out of the visit. :p

I think there is enough hype around the Thunderbolt that they don't need to build it up for a week before a launch. Anouncement on Tuesday and launch on Thursday would be fine.

I need to burn some vacation hours so I'm taking next Thursday and Friday off, and don't have anything planned to do. With my luck, this means there is a ZERO percent chance the phone is coming out next week. Sorry I screwed things up guys... :p

Wow, Cory, I didn't realize you had been compiling all of Be5n's remarks for us. That is a lot of work! Big ups!

As much as you love your Fascinate, will you be getting a Bolt? Or are you waiting for the Stealth?

I'll probably try both out (because that's how I am), but I'm having a tough time getting too excited about any upcoming phones because of size and form factor options. I want to take all 3 phones, add LTE, and then mash them together.
  • Fascinates form factor and 4" screen size (fits nicely in the hands and pocket)
  • Stealth's new Super AMOLED plus screen technology.
  • TB's build quality (especially the back), HTC Sense (the email, dialer screen, and browser), reputation for hackability and software updates, and a working GPS.
At CES the Stealth felt too big and had weird plastic buttons, but I was drooling all over its Super AMOLED Plus screen. I examined the TB under the bright lights of an In & Out Burger, so the TB was at a disadvantage there, but it felt solid in my hands and overall I left with a yep that's an HTC Sense phone kind of feeling. Nothing wrong with it and if you're new to Android or are are due for an upgrade, this phone is going to blow you away. If you're in the small minority (like me) that wants to get blown away with something new every 6 months, I wasn't quite there. That's an important thing to point out, because I am not the average consumer. Most people I know buy phones on contract and when they buy one, they are jumping to something that is likely a pretty good upgrade, especially if they are crossing platforms. My expectations are unrealistic and criticism should be taken with a grain of salt. These guys are doing the best the can at a very rapid rate. Adding LTE, improving build quality, tweeking their UI's, boosting performance, adapting to new network technologies, etc. But they don't want anything they put out to be a one-trick pony, so there will always be something just a tad better a few months down the road.

That said, I am so over the Fascinates GPS issues (yep they are back again) that the TB would probably blow me away if it works well. Thank goodness for Adrynalyne and his ROM's. He keeps me sane.

This device is a Verizon first. It is going to be treated more like the DROID or iPhone 4 than any other random high-end smartphone on the network.

And that's where I stopped reading this post because I am now jonesing hardcore for a double-double, animal style and I won't be back out west for 2 more months. Thanks a lot!

You may be able to get 2 out of the three with the Dinc 2. Not sure if it's LTE or not.
