Things you don't like about LGV10? :(

Well I upgraded from the LG G2 on 11/9 and I've noticed 3 things so far.

1. Youtube has been playing pretty much all videos badly. Will not play any 1440p videos past 5-7 seconds without freezing badly, while continuing to play audio. Also ,no 60fps on any videos. (My brother's G3 played the same videos perfectly with my V10 side by side. Which in turn raised his brow a little😁😒)

2. Camera doesn't focus as well as expected.

3. Second screen is sporadically unresponsive to touch when main screen is off. I was hoping the flashlight would be easier to access throught it.

The Youtube video playing issues may be a dealbreaker for me since I watch massive amounts of Youtube. Gonna give it a couple more days before I attempt to get a replacement.

I've had no issues with YouTube videos. I just watched several 1440p videos to see if any issues popped up. All videos played flawlessly with no hiccups or anything. I tried both wifi and 4G LTE and each one worked great.

Really?! I knew this phone was more than capable! There has to be something wrong. We tested both his G3 and my V10 side by side, and nearly all HD video is choppy on my V10 and 1440p is inoperable. No 60fps whatsoever. Even my G2 played these videos well. 😕

Take it back.
Sounds like you have a bad unit.

My 2 gripes:

- The Auto-Brightness is way too aggressive in darkness. When in a dark environment, the Auto-Brightness brings it down to pretty much 0% making it almost unreadable. This is an LG thing, as the G4 had the same issue and was widely known. The solution many of those folks had was to install Lux as a 3rd party auto-brightness controller.

I thought this was just me not figuring out how to get the settings right! Coming from Samsung, this was one of the first things I noticed. But I really thought I had something set wrong.

I can't find a way to keep text messages from turning my screen on

The battery life seems poor when running a normal amount of apps....

I wish the second screen apps could be displayed when the phone is off...not just the signature, etc....

Otherwise....this is an incredible phone that has amazing versatility. Given that the Galaxy's did away with everything that separated them from iPhones I appreciate LG sticking to their guns. Keeping the SD card, removable battery, etc.

I wanted to love the V10 but returned it after having it only one day. I'm still interested in this phone but it just could not replace my Note 5.
I'm not bashing the V10, there were just too many faults. Here is a list I complied:

No wireless charging
No LED Notification light
Bad light bleed from second screen
Very low Volume Speaker & Earpiece
No "Custom" label when saving contacts to phone it's self (Verizon)
Display dim unless brightness turned way up
Whites on display look Grey
Clock Design (stacked clock)
Second screen too dim when main screen is off and in stand by mode.
Poor battery life
Screen cracks easily (this I'm not too sure about)

The phone still intrigues me though.

I love having this phone naked. But the camera sticks out too much and is pretty scratched up from laying it in its back so much.

Couple things I don't like about my V10 is that it doesn't wake up and make me bacon and eggs in the morning. It also refuses to massage my back no matter how much I request it when I say "hey google". Let me not forget about it not having every other feature from every other phone I've owned in the past.

You see how ridiculous this sounds? Battery life will depend on how much you use that damn thing. Taking a lot of video will drain it the quickest. I think battery life is great. Everyone's mileage will vary and people should know this by now. Comparing displays is like chuck steak and filet mignon. Each company tries to build their own Lane and LG is a product of that. I got the phone because of the camera. Hands down better than any phone out there being able to control everything. Yeah you can do it with the note 5 but the experience isn't the same and still isn't better. Being able to go 21hrs on a charge with a little left to spare is more than enough to get anyone through the day.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that your constant stream of posts listing all the things you don't like about the V10 are surpassed only by your frequent posts spreading made up stories about the V10 specifically and about LG in general.

We are all glad you like your Note 5, and look forward to many more posts about why you returned your V10 after only a day.

I asked for coffee......

With regards to the weird lock screen clock... See this:

View attachment 205990View attachment 205991

One picture is what the clock looks like when there is a notification on my lock screen. The other is what shows when there is no notification.

That all being said, I have not seen a setting to change this.

And mine is stacked like yours on the right when I have no notifications on the screen and notifications turned off for the lock screen. If I turn on notifications for the lock screen and have no notifications, it also looks like your stacked clock on the right. If I have notifications turned on and then get a notification, the clock becomes a normal one line clock just like yours on the left. I think we have pretty much determined this is how it works.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be a setting to control it. It also seems to be by design by LG so I would be surprised to see a change when there is a software update. Someone important at LG must think that weird stacked clock is cool or something.

Or maybe somewhere in the world that I am ignorant of, that is what a standard clock looks like. Anyone know?

Funny but your NFL notification on the left and the stacked clock on the right really should go together. You know...

15!
26!
HIKE!

Everything I stated is true, nothing made up. These problems do exist on the V10 and they're are all the same.

Nonsense, they are a mixture of true such as the notification led and problems with some. I have no light bleed from second screen, my volume is fine and comparable to my dual speaker N6, screen is bright enough that I run at less than 60%, you are not even sure about cracking. All the same shows your ignorance or inexperience in buying phones. You can read the posts on this forum and they show you are wrong on many items when you include "they are all the same".

Really? How about the FUD you tried to spread about LG never shipping the promo items for the G4?

I believe LG did this kind of deal with the G4 and most of the people never received their free stuff.

How about your made up stuff about "speckles"?

I noticed what looks like speckles in the flat black finish on the top & bottom face of the V10.
Are all V10's like this?

I get it. You love your Note 5, and it makes you feel better to trash a competitor. But it there is anyone here who still cares about your opinion on the V10, I would be very surprised.

Is the earpiece volume really that low? I sold my Note 4 due to that problem. Was hoping the V10 had a clear / loud earpiece for calls. Any comments are appreciated

Only felloffthetruck has said that, and there is some question if he has really used the phone. He seems to run into a lot of issues that no one else has reported.

My volume is fine, although I must admit that I thought the Note 4 volume was fine as well.

Appreciate the comment. I will try one at either the ATT or VZW store first. Had trouble hearing through the Note 4 earpiece especially in noisy areas.
