Things you DONT like about the HTC One?

I don't like that the Micro USB charging port is in a mirror image location of the power button. I find myself pushing on that port more than I would have thought. This is exacerbated by the power button being almost totally flush.

I had to laugh when I read this part, because when I first got my case put on the phone I picked it up one day to turn the phone on. I kept pushing on the power button yet nothing was happening. I looked at the power button and my heart dropped thinking Dam, my power button got pushed in and broken. Upon a closer look, it was just my usb port.....

Not being able to change out the lockscreen icons is a big suck for me. I love the phone, but really like being able to customize. I hear that an upcoming ROM will work to allow that.

Also, after rooting I'm trying to remove bloatware and notice after a reboot it always comes back. I have no idea how, but it is. So a new ROM will cure that as well. Other than that I think it's awesome.

Use magic locker, i use it and its great :) Way better then the stock lock screen, you can customize the apps and you dont need a 3rd party launcher etc

So my big issue right now, while it can eventually take some pretty amazing night shots, I've found the autofocus to be terrible, I have to take the same shot a few times to get a good one. Also having annoying issues with glare off bright lights at night.

Other minor issues are the gallery showing crap I don't want, Blinkfeed, and customizing the lock screen shortcuts to be different from the quick launch. Oh, and I miss the dedicated search button.

You won't find a dedicated search button on any decent android phones these days. All you have to do is hold down the home button and you can search.

It's a superb phone and I love owning it, however there are a few things that I would have liked:

1. Having the traditional 3 back/home/multi-task layout ON SCREEN. With just the back and home buttons, it means the multi-tasker is a two button press, which is annoying, as I have a habit of mashing the home button a couple of times to go home, and when an app has a settings button, the bottom of the screen is taken up with the 3 button thing. Would be much better if they went the way stock goes and have 3 on screen buttons, with the menu button popping up if needed.

2. Blinkfeed custom feeds. I'd rather choose what websites I want hooked into blinkfeed. Their choices pretty much suck and you can't get any other ones. Plus, I'd like to prioritize Twitter over Facebook and over my news feeds. And have Google + intergration.

3. Zoe's are, as far as I can tell, a pretty useless gimmick. A 3 second video that also takes 20 still shots? Uh ok? Might be better if Zoe's were unlimited until you turned them off. But doing something that can already be done with the video recorder is pretty useless.

4. Get rid of the **** "power saver" thing in the pull down notification bar. Why the hell is that there persistently?

5. I wish you could add other cloud image services outside of Flickr and Facebook. I have a crap load of pictures on Google+ and Dropbox, but it won't let me use those to see in my gallery.

Not sure what you're talking about with 5, because I have my Dropbox connected.

Do you have Dropbox installed on your device?

To get rid of the power saver notification just long press it then force stop the app... Simple :)

The only thing I could possibly think of is the battery - doesn't quite get through to the end of the day sometimes (15% battery now after just over 14 hrs off the charger). Also takes a good little time to charge.

Other than that, damn it's impressive.

I don't really know if there are any large full HD phones that do any better besides ones with over 3k mah

One thing I was disappointed with is the fact that Google Wallet doesn't work on this phone. You would think on a flagship device Google would want that up and running.

Not really, this isn't a Google flagship it's entirely up to HTC.

Coming from iOS to Android means that things are not going to be exactly the same, and if they were there would be court battles, and while there may be some things iOS can do that you can't in Android, the opposite is alos true.
Yes, I realize this and was prepared for the adjustment.

I think it is important to realize that Android allows countless variations on setups. Any stock set up would be criticized by someone. You criticize that the last number is shown above the keypad for quick dialing. If it wasn't there someone else would complain that it wasnt.
Agreed.

There are a lot of ways to handle contacts in Android. If you aren't using the dialpad, just open contacts. Then you go straight to contacts instead of the dial pad, which is still only a swipe away. Or get a contacts launcher, like circle launcher where one tap opens the icons of selected contacts for one click dialing to whatever number you set up. There are also other dialers you can download that may be configurable the way you want. In android you aren't stuck with the stock dialer or stock contacts app for that matter. You can download a different one and set that as the default.
Thanks - I am looking at alternate dialers that may be more suitable for me.

Blue tooth - Does you car not allow you to easily unpair media player from phone separtely from the phone? Mine truck does, and now I guess I know why. I never needed that but it sounds like you do.
THANK YOU!! I didn't realize my car's BT allowed me to do that, but it does - and it's just a couple of quick selections to disconnect or reconnect media player streaming while leaving phone BT alone. This is exactly what I needed!

Facebook - you really don't have to remove the app, unlinking in the gallery just signs you out but when you sign back in to Facebook the photos will resync. However, there is a workaround for this - just use the web version of facebook. It does pretty much everything the app does but it won't stick pictures in your gallery.
Truth is I'm not a big FB user anyway, so I may just give that a shot. At the very least, it gave me an excuse to 'unfollow' a bunch of FB friends that, well...aren't really friends.

Hope this helps.
It does...Thanks again!

Great! I am especially glad your blue tooth will be workable with out a hassle.

I still haven't selected a 2013 model phone yet because I'm waiting for the fall releases so I can bash both of you.

Lol :p
