things you notice after installing leaked froyo for droid x

ChompSMS - all the incoming messages have a time-stamp that is 4 hours behind the current time. My outgoing messages are accurate. When I check with the default message app the time stamps are correct.

Didn't matter if I had auto-time, hard-coded it, or even changed it to GMT -0. All messages coming in are off 4 hours and as such, are ordered by time. Anyone else see this?

sorry i'm gonna sound like an idiot, but where do i go to get fron case i wanted to switch back.yo?? and how do i hard reset thanks to anyone who can offer help. o and does my sd card get wiped on a hard reset?? and is there any chance this could brick my phone?? sorry one more noob question, is there a way to backup my current settings?? thanks alot!!

thanks guys any help is much appreciated, i'm very new to android DX is my first one, n i just dont wanna mess anything on this bad boy up.

No reason to, at least for me. Wireless tether is free!

only through a 3rd party app? If I try and tether through 2.2 alone it brings me to verizons pricing.

Actually my droid has a "tethering" option under networks but my droid with 2.2 does not have that option?

Correction, it just takes my laptop to the verizon pricing screen. Sorry guys. I got pretty excited too till I actually tried it.

Is there a definitive answer as to whether ota will come through if the leak is installed?

Everything is smooth except I can't type the letter a in swype when I text. when i touch the letter it shows options but not just the single letter. I have to choose an option like an and delete the n.

something they took away in this build is double tapping the period on the multitouch keyboard to insert a comma. I really liked that feature.

I'm really glad you brought this up. I actually like No Lock better, because there's no brief display of the lock screen after I hit the power button.
I can't seem to get the option of "just" the unlock slider now. I either have to have the slider AND the pattern lock - or neither of them. Can't just have one or the other - unless I'm being dense and totally missing something.

Nope, not anymore. In 2.1 you could, but in 2.2 they changed it to be a slider for Vibrate, not silent.

Man, why does it have to be a step forward, a step back? I actively use all three modes: regular, silent, and vibrate. Why can't we choose? In 2.1 it's hard to get to vibrate mode. Now in 2.2 it's hard to get to silent? Sheesh! Guess I'll stick to widgets for it.

No it isnt, you can just set it to never vibrate like it did on 2.1, read this http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/19/froyo-is-confusing-those-who-vibrate-and-silent-their-devices/
and just my opinion, but I find silent to be useless anyway. I can barely feel, much less hear, my X on vibrate.

time for the really dumb question that i think i already know the answer to: since this is a leaked version of the official update, i would guess i am losing root access, yes?

So of you set it to never vibrate it has a option for silent ? I used the silent mode. And vibrate you could just hit volume up to vibrate, now how to get silent?

I see the issue now, my mistake, its for using the rocker. I guess that features disabled, though I hated it and much prefer this anyway. I guess ones best shot would be a widget, which i find much quicker than using the rocker anyway.
