things you notice after installing leaked froyo for droid x

No more castle crunch!? Can't even find it on market. That was the second thing I noticed.

I benchmarked 100 over the last 2.1 post wipe test. Probably means this isn't a complete build (no JIT?)

I am already sending phone back for replacement for another reason (3G disappears occasionally) so thought the leak might fix the current issue. I have until tuesday+ 10 days before I need send it in.

Good camera improvements, and I really think I am liking the bigger callouts on the key presses, and I am excited about the quick access !?,@ _ characters.

Where oh where did my beloved "character zoom while positioning the cursor" go to? That was brilliant if not fallable.

I really wish the landscape keyboard was a bit less intrusive over the web form.

UPDATE::

YEAY!!! Chrome -to- Phone extension now usable! (Google Chrome to Phone Extension by chrometophone)

No reason to, at least for me. Wireless tether is free!

I miss my ShootMe and a couple of others. Trying to remove the superuser.apk from the last build I had. Fun, fun, I sure hope this 2.2 build does not need that superuser.apk file I am about to delete.

I see the issue now, my mistake, its for using the rocker. I guess that features disabled, though I hated it and much prefer this anyway. I guess ones best shot would be a widget, which i find much quicker than using the rocker anyway.

its ok I just wish hitting the rocker down one more time set silent

I've found that the Market isn't working for me at all after the update. Anyone else having any issues with it?

My market was working earlier but a little buggy but now it's completely not working all of a sudden.

Rebooted and it still is acting up. Hmmmm.

it seems to be real sluggish. im rooted with 2.2.. not sure if thats a rpoblem. i have my apps backed up so im good.

just saw in evo forum there having market issues also. so i doubt is our froyo messing with the market. unless its the millions of X switching over to 2.2 today.

Mine worked for about 5 minutes right after I updated and now It just says loading and then gives an error message. This is no bueno.

I just googled "android market issues" and got a bunch of twitter hits all asking the same question. That REALLY makes me feel better. I DID NOT want to have to part ways with my Froyo.

Just my luck it would go down within minutes of me updating to the leak; I am going to take a deep breath and relax.

I can't seem to get the option of "just" the unlock slider now. I either have to have the slider AND the pattern lock - or neither of them. Can't just have one or the other - unless I'm being dense and totally missing something.

I'm in your boat. Thought I was crazy. Can't find an option to just use the regular lock screen. My choices are either None, Pattern, Pin or Password. Anyone else?

Can I go back 2.1? I like to 2.2 but im wanna be able to take my phone if something goes wrong. Does anybody know?

My unlock slider is disabled I selected none.but getting it back I have no idea I had to set a pin lock but don't know how to get just the slider back.

Didn't come up in a search of this thread, landscape now works in both horizontal orientations. That's a nice plus.

"Daddy, I'm a little mixed up ..."

As my 4 year old says ...

1. Unrooted, unadultarated Droid X install with apps, ADW, photos, music, etc.

2. Do I have to reset the phone before applying the upgrade?

3. If not, will all apps, etc still be installed after the upgrade?

4. Does the native e-mail app now work in IMAP (will it delete e-mails off the server when you tell it to)?

5. Is the whole landscape vs. portrait MMS orientation thing fixed? (Droid X 2.1 will not send portrait pix, turns them sideways)

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I think they changed the battery saver profile. Data turns off after 15 min now instead of 30.

Yes you can downgrade to 2.1 as well as use this method to go back and root your phone if you lost it doing the 2.2 upgrade

This method will cause you to lose everything on your phone so I strongly suggest backing up your phone first if that concerns you

1) download the SBF file here Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

2) Download RDS Lite here http://www.wikifilez.com/Root%20Files/MotoDroidX/RSDLite-4.7+patch.zip

3) Install the drivers that apply to your Operating System.

4) Install the RSDLite 4.7 program by double clicking on the program. Move the pst_flash.ini file into the following folder [Program Files/Motorola/RSDLite]

5) Unzip the SBF into a folder.

6) Open RSD Lite and find the UNZIPPED SBF

7) Put your Motorola Droid X in bootloader mode (power off completely, then hold volume down and camera buttons as well as power button until bootloader sceen is up) Now connect the Droid X via usb.

8) Click start

9) after the RSD reboots you phone it will go into a boot loop (red eye screen and then back to droid screen over and over). Pull the battery and boot back into recovery mode. (with battery out, hold home key, replace battery while still holding menu key. If motorola screen does not appear then manually press power button while still holding home key, when triangle screen appears, release home key and press search key)

10) Do a factory wipe

11) Reboot

You will now be running a fresh 2.1

**Credit for this goes out to rootzwiki and MyDroidWorld for the RSD Lite
