Are you talking lock or timeout? Cause there is a "never timout" in the screen timeout section. If you are talking about the slider that comes up after your screen goes off.

Yes, I'm talking about the slider. In 2.1 that could be disabled completely through the settings. Not anymore.

All the screenshots of the lock screen still seem to have the 'swipe for silent' option, that'd be another way

Nope, not anymore. In 2.1 you could, but in 2.2 they changed it to be a slider for Vibrate, not silent.

Huh? I don't fully understand this. My dad's Droid just got Froyo this morning and he can no longer hold the volume button down to go to "Silent". It stops at "Vibrate".

So what you're saying is the only way to completely make the phone silent (no vibrate or ring) is to go into settings?

Hold down the On/Off button. Silent is there.

At least it is on 2.1

I noticed that several apps I had on my phone before I did a wipe and then install of 2.2 can not be redownloaded from the market as the build.prop is wrong. This kind of negates all the neat new stuff. :(

On version 2.1-update1 on my X, I have a video/audio out of sync issue if I advance/pause/rewind a video. Doesn't matter if it's a native or ripped video. Can/has anyone tested that on this build?

Not sure if the items with ? marks after them were there before. Just noticed them myself.

  • Cannot turn off SD card notifications in Sound settings.
  • New Polar Clock live wallpaper (?)
  • No longer able to disable screen lock {grrrrrrr}
  • Option to use Power button to end call (?)
  • Several apps will not install due to this being an unofficial release: Touchdown key, Docs to Go key, Flight Track app/key & Remote Tunes to name a few. All apps I use constantly, of course.

Launcher Pro Plus still adds a lot of value - will never give that up.

[*]Option to use Power button to end call (?)
Settings ---> Accessibility ---> Power Button Ends Call

I noticed that the music player controls on the lock screen are now lower...as in right above the unlock and volume sliders, too close if you ask me. Also no border around the controls anymore.

Also I may be wrong but I dont think this has the JIT. I think I saw the leaked Froyo on the Evo had low Linpack scores (14's) and then the official had skyrocketed into the 30's. I think we are gonna be waiting on the JIT

The music controls don't bother me but the phone doesn't feel much faster than 2.1 (I'm running LP) so it's probably safe to assume we don't have JIT yet.

Media Gallery is better than 2.1u1, but I prefer the EVO 2.2 Media Gallery - much nicer.....and guess what, yea it still works on this leaked 2.2 for Droid X :)

Unlock screen sucks - I use pattern lock so I had this option turned off. Now I'm forced to deal with that. Also, volumn control doesn't goto no sound, just vibrate or sound (at different volume) - Dazzel widget does continue to work and cycle between no-sound, vibrate, last volume setting.

Wifi is working more consistent. Where I work, we have two facilities and moving between the two different Wifi networks always required that I connect manually. Now, it does it on it's own - the way it should have been.

As far as performance. It seems the same to me, from browsing, to android market, to fb, to general use.

Scores on Linpack are up, about 5. Quadrant is up about 100.

I'm using ADW Launcher, love it, and happy to report it continues to work. As does: Handcent, FB, Dynomaster, aDyno, Root Explorer, androidVNC, Advanced Task Killer amongst others I use.

If I come across anything else, I'll post up...
