This awesome phone is in my hands. Any questions?

The speaker sounds amazing, but some may not like it. I'll try my best to explain.

It seems like everything is much more clearer...meaning, if you were watching a video or something, and there were noises that kinda "blended in" to the other noise when using the dinc 1, on the dinc 2 you can actually hear that noise that would be blended in on the original. Very hard to explain, so maybe someone else could chime in.

BUT, it seems like the dinc 1 had more bass.

Thanks for the reply!

Interesting about the base. Sounds dumb but I like the base on the D-Inc1.

What about volume? Can it get as loud? I couldn't believe that the Thunderbolt for example just could not get that loud.

After some time lurking on forums I purchased this phone last night.
It is my first smart phone- data & texting plan. So far I really like it, the screen is beautiful and the PERFECT size. I made my first call today and it was very clear and I didnt have to have my ear in one certain spot to be able to hear (like my LG Venus- hey dont laugh).
So far my only issue is just not knowing all the fun things to do with it. Is there some place to find a step by step user guide for newbies?? I find the knowledge of most on BB's are far more advanced than I and right now I just need to know the basics.

IMO the speaker is louder than the dinc 1.

I went on youtube last night, started watching a video, and was like "wow this is loud" so I figured it was up all the way. To my surprise, the volume was only up half way.

I compared it to the dinc 1 and the 2 is definitely louder.

Keep in mind though, I purchased my dinc 1 used from a friend of mine, so I have no idea if the speaker was already "worn down" or if that's how it sounded brand new.

Also, after some more daytime use, the dinc 2 screen destroys the dinc 1 screen outside in the sun. DIRECTLY in the sun, both are hard to see, but in normal use outside the dinc 2 outperforms the dinc 1 easily.

Thanks again.

I've had 2 Incs and the speaker on both was great. And very loud. If I get the Inc2, hopefully it stacks up :)

First, all hail Ahsoka! ;)

Second, welcome to Android.

Third, I don't know of any guides for n00bs. You've found a solid community in these forums and a good source for information at the androidcentral.com home page. Ask questions - someone will likely have an answer.

picked it up today - my thoughts:

definitely better than the first. i like the style better than the first (including getting rid of the red).

Screen is just about as big as i would like it. I hate the trend of phones becoming ping pong paddles.

no comments on battery yet

One annoyance...where did the clock/alarm clock app go...that was great.

also - i cannot find pdanet in the app market any more...what happened?

oh and i kind of miss the trackpad thinghy... i found it great for paging through contacts numbers in history....oh well cant have it all.

i am going to love not changing phones before i get on planes....i really hated that.

is there any app that allows for video calling from the phone to a desktop? Skype not yet..tango is only phone to phone?

oh and when is HTC going to change sense to allow it to go landscape on the home page....its silly that it is still locked in portrait......

Thanks for the comments. I'm still waiting on Fedex; so, I hadn't discovered that the alarm clock feature was missing. A good 3rd party alarm app is Alarm Clock Xtreme.

pdaNet isn't visible in the Marketing on the original Inc, either. I re-checked.

I believe installation starts on the PC - you plug in your phone, when instructed to do so, in order to install on your phone. Download: Download PdaNet

why wait for Sense to do it? LauncherPro already does. :)

thanks....if you liked the first version, you are going to love this phone. not really sure why people are so sour on it.....i cannot think of a comparable one (that is not a ping pong paddle sized).

I haven't heard many people be sour about the Incredible 2 - well, not those who have actually touched it. The Inc2 arrived - I got it for a family member, and it is awesome. I may buy one later & keep in the drawer just to have for my traveling needs.

By the way, I tapped the clock on the home screen and was taken to the usual options - including the alarm clock feature. I believe you were looking for that earlier.

I haven't heard any negative talk on the dinc 2, except the 4g stuff. That's about it. Every review I've read is extremely positive.

I love this phone.

Does anyone know if this HTC Inc 2 relies on the "bump charge" like the original Inc?

Personally, I think it's best to let these batteries charge a few cycles before anyone starts worrying about bump charges. The batteries need to break in.
