Thoughts on Bionic users to now GN, esp 4G connection?

Hello all,
I've had my Bionic since about a week after it went on sale and I'm just fed up with the constant 3G/4G data issues. I've done ALL the phone "tweaks/wipes/resets" you can do and complained twice to my local VZW store where I bought it and they don't do shiznit.
I haven't gone the calling VZW customer service and getting a replacement (or more) since it seems it's hit/miss if the replacement has the same data signal issue.

So I've been contemplating make the pluge and going retail for the GN. However, I'm wondering how the overall phone/features and more importantly data connection has been since your migration? Is it really worth it? Being another 4G phone, I don't want to waste the money if the data signal problem is there too. I know of 3 other people that have Thunderbolts have ZERO 3G/4G issues. I know people say it's not only the Bionic, but there's gotta be something in that phone that doesn't work 100% perfectly with the signal handoffs.

Thanks in advance!

I had the Bionic for two weeks and the G-nex has the same issues with data as you described. I never drop calls but, hardly ever get any data at my home. In the city or just right down the street, it's works very well just like the Bionic.

I thought they had updated the Bionic by now but, I guess not. It's funny because today I've been getting two bars and that's a lot of me in my home.

Hope you saw that best buy will give you $301 gift card for a bionic trade in if you make the move. Not a bad deal, then can get the GN retail getting what you paid for the bionic back completely.

What makes me mad is Best Buy charges $799.00 for the Galaxy Nexus and Verizon Wireless charges $650.00.

If I can get $300 for my Bionic and buy the Galaxy Nexus for $650.00 I'd do this in a heart beat. I just can't see paying $500.00 for a cell phone.

They'll price match. I did it on launch date.

Bought Bionic day one and have had the GN since Thursday. I can't recall signal issues in the past on the Bionic, but I like this device more. If the Bionic bootloader was not encrypted, I may not have jumped ship. But then again, ICS is pretty righteous as well :)

I just called my local Best Buy and they said they don't match retail prices of phones...did he know what he was talking about?

I didn't even know, but just went on BB's trade-in site and see that $301 value of the Bionic! Woo hoo :) If they can price match VZW for the $649 retail GN, I might do it. Plus, I still have my old Droid Incredible and it's "worth" $41.00 on BB's trade-in site. Even more money! hahaha..

QNet - Hmm, this is was I'm afraid of. Trade in my Bionic and while I get a great GN phone, if I'm still worn down with sporadic/or no data signal, I'm going to feel like even more like shiznit! For that, I might as well keep my Bionic.

Funny is I loved my Bionic/data signal was 100% perfect every single day until that dread Sunday night in late October that was the first 4G nationwide outage and ever since then, my Bionic has had the data signal issues, even after the OTA update a week or so ago.... GRRRR!

Very weird today... Since about 10pm or so last night till I'd say around 2pmEST today, I've had zero data signal at all, or when 3G/4G came up, I had it for all of like 20secs before disappearing. ALL while the phone was completely stationary at work since 9am this morning.. LOL

But then around 2pm or so, data signal came back on (because K-9 notification email went off) and I thought, oh that will only be around for the next couple seconds, but no, actually I've had constant data signal since then!

Hmm... I see the main AC page showing users getting a "mysterious" OTA update, and although I haven't, sure seems like something just kicked on?

yea..the guy I bought it from even called his manager to verify they would price match. I would try a few best buys in your area. Cause it worked for me. Ill take a pic of the receipt when I get home.
