Thoughts on the JB OTA Install

Mine has been anything but flawless. It's suspended 3 times. The most recent at 95%. Now it's not even showing that it's downloading again. Getting ridiculous.

Working in Houston, Texas for today and tomorrow and I just checked and downloading it now. Will install tonight after I leave work.

No issues at all with my download, went quite smoothly.

This. Went ahead & pulled it this morning and install was smooth & uneventful. The only thing I REALLY miss is the ICS+ Browser with the sweet gesture navigation rings. I can't warm up to Chrome as a full featured browser & will probably use Dolphin until I find something better. I'm rockin' the Google Voice search though.

The stock Browser on JB still has the quick access swipe menu, and its actually improved now. Make sure it's activated under its Settings/Labs menu.

I got the update on my phone last night installation went smooth. Everything working well, except my calender!

The widget says no upcoming events.
When I try to open the calender, it asks me to choose a date before June 2013 or after Dec 12 but nothing happens when i do that. When I go under settings I see my calenders, I click to display and sync them, everything is back to normal. Until I turn off the phone and turn it back on... Same problem, same temp fix works.

Anyone else with this problem?

Well I'll be darned!, right you are. It ain't as good as ICS+ but sure beats Chrome. Thank you.

EDIT: To my amazement, all my favorites from ICS+ are intact within in the stock browser. I knew it relied on it to run but did not expect it to retain all settings after the update. I'll just have to live with fewer nav rings but a fair trade off for the JB perks. Thanks again.

Did you actually have multiple nav rings using the stock Browser with ICS, or are you talking about the 3rd party ICS Browser+ on Google Play? I remember only one ring that would pop up using the stock Browser with ICS. The main improvement now is that if you keep holding one of the menu selections in the nav ring, additional related options pop up (e.g., if you hold down the back button on the nav ring, you'll see a forward button and refresh button appear).

Yes, the 3rd party ICS Browser+. It comes with 2 rings enabled and a 3rd that can be enabled. Additionally, all individual commands within the rings are fully customizable. I could do anything I ever needed with a gesture even, accessing downloads, forward, back, refresh, etc. It relied on the core of the stock browser & simply provided a new GUI shell. Fantastic app, I'll miss it.

Pretty cool. But you gotta have a pretty long thumb to utilize that third ring!

Are you using the stock calendar or the Google calendar? FWIW, mine (using Google's) seems fine as far as I can tell. I should add I don't use the widget though.

Who knows? I'm betting it will be gone in future builds.

From what I can tell, the new stock Gallery app no longer syncs with your Picasa/Google+ galleries, which I think is unfortunate. I liked that feature of the previous Motorola My Gallery app that was eliminated. I suspect this is part of Google wanting to divert everyone to Google+ to view their albums, but with Google+ on the phone, there's no option to view all of your albums in a grid format--you have to scroll through large cover photos of each album.
