Thoughts on the Note 10 and Note 10+ now that everything has been laid out?

True ...you shouldn't be helping me do this lol
Dude....no brainer....dump the Pixel 3XL. They are giving the same trade value as S10 plus. I

Their trade ins don't make sense. Same trade value for Pixel 3 or the XL model. Also on S10 plus it doesn't matter which model, which sucks if you have a more expensive model.
You have a lot of options with all the devices you have....let go of one. 300 for the 2XL

Thinking about getting a wireless car charger phone mount for the Note 10 plus. Currently I have kind of a cheapie one it holds a note 9 just fine but it doesn't charge it and I take it in and out of the holder often when doing deliveries at night

With my regular S10 not performing in the battery life I wanted because of the Exysbis version. My own network at Three has a good proposal for me:

I finish my Sim only contract this month. Three is offering the exclusy 5g Note 10 plus variant at half price contract for 6 months with unlimited data plan from 38 pounds which is cool 😎.

Now I need convince them to keep that for longer at least reduce the original contract price to within 50 to 60 pounds after 6 months rather than me paying full 78 pounds quite hefty price.

now the bummer is I'm in the Samsung upgrade program from pre order days in my Galaxy S10 so what can I do with that 🤔

It is like going to McDonald's and ordering a Big Mac to find you no longer get meat unless you now order the Big Mac +.

Samsung's marketing shamelessly did not more accurately call it Note Lite, Note Neutered, Note Child's Edition, Mini Note, or Galaxy S Pen. Never an iPhone user, but at least Apple gave their reduced model a different designation to show it was not a flagship.

I agree lol

Note 10 Review

So after months of waiting and anticipation for this phone, finally we has seen it, and let me try to go through all that I saw from the unpacked event.

Camera – did I miss something about the selfie cam? I did read on a thread somewhere on this site the selfie cam could possibly have dual aperture, but that didn’t seem to be true, it is though a wide angle lens, so I want to assume it will give the same effect as the S10+ but S10+ also has Depth Sensor on the front, so which will take better selfies?? N10 does have higher aperture at 2.2 as compared to 1.9 for S10+. All the “we made the selfie cam cutout even smaller” didn’t move me
The main camera for the N10 I guess due to it receiving a third aperture, is a little better than the S10+
I am curious about the addition of the TOF 3D VGA camera on N10, and did anyone else notice during the launch, there was an animation only for the hole just below the flash. So the second cut out does what exactly? Is it still used to aid with the top one?
Storage/RAM – I am of the “must have a memory slot” group. I like to just pull out a card with all my music/pics etc, I don’t like nor trust the cloud, and I’ve seen phones die and users cry due to loss of information, so the smaller N10 is a NO from me. RAM, tell me why the N10+ does not have a 1TB option? Yet the S10+ has it. I think Samsung dropped the ball, Note users I am sure use their phones to do more than S line users.
CPU – on GSMArena its quoted as “Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) - USA/China” am I missing something, I thought the talk was the N10 would have gotten the newer overclocked 855+ but according to GSMArena, same as the S10+ . The Exynos version though did get an upgrade from the S10+
I love the new options available for recording video, and I do wonder if this is hardware driven or software driven, would like to see it on the S10+ if its just a software upgrade needed.
The 3D scanning of object though is REAL NICE. And I guess that’s due to that TOF 3D cam only the N10+ has, hmm do I need to make so much 3D images to justify it?? Don’t know. But it is nice to have.
The doddle actions were really nice as well, I can see some creative people really using these features.
S-Pen got new features but I mean these gestures are nice but not something I would base getting a new phone on. Still nice though to be able to control more aspects of the cam without having to touch the physical phone. I think some users still wanted more from the S-Pen
Battery – N10+ only has 300 mAh more than S10+ no big advantage there. The fast charging, eh I don’t think it’s a feature to get me so Wowed at. So the difference doesn’t bother me.
Honestly not too much changes between N10+ and S10+ , those who have the S10 line I see no reason to “upgrade” only if you coming from 8 or 9
I did like the integration with Windows its been awhile I’ve been wanting some sort of way to mirror a phone screen on a computer and Dex has brought that functionality and even more so now with the partnership with Microsoft. So things are looking up in that aspect.

I know this is an N10 review but let me just touch on the other devices showed in brief.
Tab S6, looks good, seems to have similar features as new model Samsung phones released this year. My only query is, could they not find a better way/place to store the Spen, just having it stuck magnetically to the back, looks to me like a lot of spens for the Tab S6 will get lost.
The Book S is something I like, slim, and having the ability to use just the type C cable to charge it and not need a separate power brick is real nice. I’m sure combining the Book S with either N10 or S10 lines would be a great experience.
Active watch 2 – eh well, its nice, I like the LTE version and mayb one day when I get into the smart watch game I may go this way.
But like a lot of people said, there wasn’t much from this launch that made us jump out from our seats. We saw a lot of it with the S10 line. So makes me start to think already, what else can Samsung do to up their flagship phones for next year. What will the 11 series bring

To me, a Note should have ALL of the features of a Note. In other words, the non + model should be the same, only a smaller screen (and smaller battery).

I also wish the smaller version would have had a slightly bigger screen. Now if I decide to upgrade from my Note 9, I have to either choose a smaller screen, or a phone with bigger chassis (even if only slightly bigger).

Edit: Felt it today and compared. While I still stick by the first point, there the difference between the Note 9 and 10+ in size really is negligible.

Most the things you referenced about the note 10 being talked about were just rumors, leaks. Everyone is different, just because a phone gets released doesn't mean we have to get it. Not all releases will be great improvements.

I feel that the standard Note 10 is an awesome phone but compromises in too many areas to be worth upgrading from the Note 9. The lack of a jack, micro SD and ‘only’ FHD resolution isn’t great (that said, it’s better than the XS Max). The battery life seems solid but unexceptional, but the design and cameras are definitely the highlights, both being class-leading.

The Note 10+ is definitely what the Note 10 should be but bigger...might be too big at 6.8 inches though.

Compared to the S10 phones, the Note 10 series lacks the ‘wow’ factor. Everything on it (bar the new CPU, additional camera and slightly different design) has more or less already been seen on the S10 devices. You can’t expect the Note 10 to be very different from the S10.

Do both versions of the Note 10 lack micro-SD card support?? I absolutely, positively must have this function. I refuse to copy and paste everything ad nauseum.

Yes the display is 6.8, compared to the n9 at 6.4. But the dimensions aren't that much different.
10+ : 6.39 x 3.04 x 0.31
N 9 : 6.37 x 3.01 x 0.35

I guess I would like to see Note 9 vs a note 10 size. Any pictures or videos yet?

I always keep my phone in my front trouser pocket. The S9 phone in my trouser front pocket is already at capacity. How would the larger Note 10 fit for me???? Getting ridiculous.

Those dimensions are pretty much the same, the Note 9 v Note 10+ are basically the same size with the 10+ having less bezel to make the bigger screen, it will still fit in my pockets the same as the Note 9.

Thinking about getting a wireless car charger phone mount for the Note 10 plus. Currently I have kind of a cheapie one it holds a note 9 just fine but it doesn't charge it and I take it in and out of the holder often when doing deliveries at night

I use the iOttie magnetic phone mount work wireless charging. I used the iOttie with the mechanical clamp, but the arm broke on me. After looking at it closely, it was clear that it's not designed strongly enough to handle the shock load from snapping the arms shut around the phone. They should have damped the arm mechanism.

But, I went with iOttie as their fast wireless charger has been the best I have found in a car dock so far.

I had one that triggered the heat protection circuitry but they didn't design it to let the temp drop low enough before allowing the charging to resume. The result was that the phone kept charging and then stopping every 10 seconds and that would drain the battery. Had some luck with a different charger but it didn't have an adjustable pedestal so moving to a larger phone put the could out of range.

One downside to the magnetic version I found is that getting the could to line up isn't 100% as the position of the phone can be moved around on the magnet a little. But it's not bad. The other one is that you are stuck using their mount. There are three options (day/glass, vent, or cd slot; the vent mount eventually slides off though), but I use a Proclip mount made for my car and I had to take the mount apart to get the ball out of the socket and then modify my ball mount to accept their ball. Then put the whole thing back together as a unit. The mechanical unit I mentioned before used a standard 17mm ball that could be accessed without disassembling the whole thing.

Yeah, I put my Note 9 next to the 10+ at Best Buy and the difference really is incredibly minimal. I can't imagine it would feel any different in my pocket (which I had been concerned about if you see above).
