Now thats a plain!! I to am hopping that BB releases it on the 14th... If not my local store is going to have a few obscenities coming there way. Not that I mind but they did say they would call if it was going to be postponed at all and its getting close to the 14th and still no call. Its stupid but I hate when people dont follow though with things.

Well, my original goal was to wait a couple of weeks after the launch for the simple reason that I wanted to hear from people about the Thunderbolt...my biggest concerns is that it is basically an EVO 4 G wih some slight changes...and a half crap battery. I know about the 4G LTE...but I have to tell you, you should go over the the Android Central Evo site...half of these people turn off the 4G so they can make it through the morning without the battery killing the phone. So I was going to wait for some of your droid "expertise" before diving in. Who knows...I did not pre-order...maybe it would be a couple of weeks after launch if there is a wait for the bolt....anyway...I guess what I am saying is that while I really do not want an I-phone..I am willing to wait until April/May if I can skip to a dual core HTC...or some other sweetness!

Well....if its battery life your concerned with dont hold your breath on the first gen dual core.....you may be having the same issues....IMO

It says that it's next week's add, so it will be in the Sunday papers. There is no mention of an availability date, so Best Buy is obviously assuming that it will be in stock next week.

According to a BB employee on these forums yesterday BB does not do price matching on mobile phones.

1. Just add a line or upgrade to the family plan first.
2. Ask them to switch the device and make your primary line to use the new HTC thunderbolt.
3. Cancel the other no-use line and pay the ETF.

Then you will pay much less for the phone than the retail price.

Due to the lead time necessary to design, print, and distribute these ads, my guess it that they were destined for this upcoming Sunday's newspaper when 2/14 was still the expected release date. Which may explain why there is no "Coming Soon" mentioned.

I almost did this when I got my last phone. But instead I opted to keep the other line open and I just put a dumbphone on it for use by my kids for emergencies. It wasn't quite as cheap then, but they've increased their ETF fees significantly since I did it. So depending on where you are in your contract, it might be cheaper to do keep the line open and pay the additional line fee versus the ETF.

Having worked at Best Buy in the past, there are occasions when certain stores get up to 2 weeks of ads at a time and most of the time at least the GM gets an ad 2 sometimes 3 weeks in advance depending on big releases so the GM could schedule people accordingly.
