Thunderbolt - Best Buy Availability/Pricing/Ordering Discussion

Apparently, the "NEW" on top the the device means that it should be in stores at some point during the week the ad is out. A well respected member on androidforums actually posted this, and explained what he thinks. He also provided the latest BB screen shots as well.

I think I'll leave the finger x'ing to you. Mine got so bent outa shape from being x'd the past few weeks I finally got them un-x'd yesterday and they ain't goin' back. My attitude has gone from the highest level of excitement down to the minus column. I didn't like Apple before and like them even less now and I didn't think that was possible. Their s--- DOES stink and they can take their "I'm better than you." attitude and put it where the sun don't shine.

Yeah, on most products probably. But with systems showing 2/21 and 2/23 ship dates I don't think that's possible. But who knows..I'll prolly be back Sunday saying something completely different

Yeah, you can walk in on Sunday and they will tell you to pre-order it and wait for whatever date.

Sometimes, that's a marketing strategy to lock more pre-orders in.

the ad is for the whole week, so walk in sunday they will say pre order is still goin on but should tell you a date.....but we know how this has been goin. but 24th should be the day you can walk in an walk out with a new bolt

i expect verizon to say something by monday. if not, dont get your hopes up on 24th lol

I stopped at BB near my office, the mobile clerk said they have no confirmed info only rumors its the 24th. He did say I can get a refund on my pre-order if I wanted. So if it shows up in Sunday's ad which has been leaked and not updated over at Droid-Life then what will the mobile clerks say then?

I would think for BB to release this add this way they have to believe they will be selling the phone next week.

The BB worker over on Androidforums said the street date for the tbolt at BB was the 14th so they could technically sell the phone when ever they get it after that. Phones may be available for purchase on the 21st.

These pushback rumors got me thinking back to the 6th (gosh that seems so long ago...lol) when I handed my fifty bucks over, and I asked the BB guy when the phone is coming out. His response was "umm, March 22nd I think, does that sound right?" I of course said "it better not be, I heard February 14th". Now I wonder...lol. Never much gave a crap about phones til I saw the TB, so I guess I'll wait for it!

me and you are in the same boat. I always just used to watch the video reviews of phones on youtube. I saw the TB and was sold.

I've read most of the 99 pages by now, and I'm not sure if it has been discussed, but I was in my local BBY today asking the mobile crew about the Tbolt. They have decided as a store to officially answer as "its rumored for the 24th, but we will call when we get it in". I like that policy on their part, at least they seem to be trying to get on the same page with each other, which in the past with this launch, has been no where to be found.
The most important part of my trip though, was asking the staff what would happen with the Best Buy Buyback if it came out after the 26th. They didnt have an answer for me, so they called the actual store manager over. He told me that since I pre-ordered it damn near a month ago (on the 6th), that he would definitely waive the $69.99 cost for me if it doesn't come out on the 24th. I do not think this will be the case at every BBY. Make sure that you talk to the actual store managers about this, because I am fairly certain that they are the only ones who can waive the cost of the program. I feel like I should have gotten it in writing though and my fingers are still crossed that this will be a non-issue and it will be released on Thursday of next week!
