Thunderbolt - Best Buy Availability/Pricing/Ordering Discussion

Point being is that on some tech blogs/forums we are clammering.. I am sure some up at corp know, but really numbers wise we are a blip... IMO.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with that statement. Google Insights marks the TBolt as the most buzzed, which is at a +300! Believe me, VZ knows there are people knocking at the door.

I agree. We're the ones who are going out and buying this device while we're on contract. Joe Blow Average customer will only pick it up when they roll over on their contract or want to jump ship. A huge phone release, that does not make. The enthusiast crowd keeps the word of mouth going... they get the excitement going... they publish news stories, they tell their friends, they keep it flowing.

I just got a call from BB. he said "thank you for pre-ordering the htc thunderbolt. The release date was moved back by verizon from the 24th to the 28th" I got the message on my Google Voice.

I called my BB just now, they said they still expect it tomorrow although haven't received a shipment yet.

Just got a call from my local bb thanking me for the pre order but we have some bad news... Phone has been delayed and as soon as they get an updated date they will call me back.

VZW has been good to me. So I'll not bash them at all. I emailed them a while ago to ask if they could change my NE2 date up so I could get the Droid X. This is before I decided on the TB.

The rep emailed back, moved my NE2 up a month. He just called today to ask if I needed help ordering the Droid X. I told him I appreciate his service and that I'm waiting for TB

So, while this release is frustrating, I still have only good things to say about VZW. Their customer service has always been helpful and nice. Plus good coverage.

Just got a call from my local bb thanking me for the pre order but we have some bad news... Phone has been delayed and as soon as they get an updated date they will call me back.

I wish my Best Buy would at least give me that courtesy. It's like pulling teeth even trying to get connected to the correct department when you call my local store.

Just got off the phone with my local BB (Garner NC) and the guy was actually the most forthcoming person I've talked to. Maybe it's because he's waiting for the phone too. Anyway, he said that they were originally told Feb 14, then Feb 24, but never an "official" word. He has been keeping an eye on the system and he said as of right now, they have no TBs, there is no shipment listed in transit, and there isn't even a placed order showing up. He said he can't 100% rule out that they won't get them in sometime tomorrow, but it's not likely because according to him there would be SOMETHING showing in their system. Ok, I may be a girl but I ain't no drama mama, and this craziness is overloading my circuits lol.

ya i think most of us have some circuit overloading issues lately, be nice to atleast know something i feel like i'm being teased by VZW lol

My BB in Manchester, NH, says they don't have the phone yet nor do they have any info regarding the release date.

My Best Buy in Mesa, AZ will have it on the 28th. called several times and purposely spoke to different people and they all gave me the same answer. said they were waiting to receive a confirmation from VRZ on the date that it was pushed back to. take it with a grain a salt like the rest but it seems pretty likely. I would think they would announce it tomorrow because of t-mobiles G4 galaxy S coming out today and sprint making some announcement tomorrow and the xoom coming out tomorrow also. makes some sense to me.

I can imagine their frustration - their helplessness. When I called my local BBY earlier this evening, the poor guy started out with a sigh before letting me know that they did not have any information about the release and they had not received the devices yet.
