Thunderbolt - Best Buy Availability/Pricing/Ordering Discussion

Ok, yeah, you're probably right. I just saw the speaker grill with the camera next to it so I made an assumption. I'm glad I'm not crazy though, thanks for validating my madness!

When i saw the thunder at the end, i was like AHHHH YEAA!!! Then i was like WTF!!?

The whole time I was watching the commercial (while at work, mind you) I completely ignored my other duties, hushed a lower level employee, leaned forward in my chair, and started praying to any god I could think of that the commercial would end with Thunderbolt info. Turns out there isn't a god*

*no offense is meant here, unless you're god and you're reading this. In that case, come on dude...

LOL!!!!!

preordered at best buy tonight. i asked the guy about verizon's release date...he looked up something on the computer and said probably the 28th. i made sure multiple times that my phone would be available to pick up the 14th and they all assured me it would be. one of the girls said its possible the date could get moved back but that doesn't happen often. she said their shipment is set to arrive the morning of the 14th.

Right on. I won't hold my breath, but that's because I can't go longer than about 45 seconds. My best buy also told me that they expect it to be there on the 14th.

im really hoping they're right. my blackberry is getting worse and worse by the day. im still a little indecisive about buying from best buy though...i originally wanted a 1 yr contract however my impatience urged me to go to best buy and preorder! im hoping vzw has the phone available on the 14th as well that way i can just get it there and use the $50 gift card for something else. hopefully the guy at best buy is wrong about the feb 28th release date. my plan was to go ask at vzw but they were already closed when i got there.

Another thing to consider is that Verizon got rid of their 1 year plan. Really though, Best Buy is a great place to buy phones. They have an awesome warranty (pretty much no questions asked) and they're pretty quick about it. I had a Fascinate for a month while I waited for more info about the TBolt, and taking it back was no hassle at all. They didn't even check to see if I rooted the phone! I unrooted it first, but that was still pretty cool. I know people love to hate on Best Buy, but I'm one of the few who doesn't mind shopping there. There's certain things I wouldn't buy, like anything with computers, but I enjoy it.

i saw the htc commercial. It wasnt the TB though. It was the desire, Evo and inc. I know it wasn't the TB because the ports were on the bottom. At the end they showed some clouds and thunder. It looked like the bootup. Turns out it was just a car commercial haha

HA! Found it!

Also, here's my inventory for the phones:
G2, Evo, Incredible, Inspire, HD7, Thunderbolt.

EDIT: Wow, 3 posts in a row. I must be bored at work or something...

Verizon got rid of the 1 year plans???

No they didn't, I just asked about it yesterday and was told a one year contract is a option it just adds 70-100 dollars to the phone price

Verizon got rid of the 1 year plans???

On Jan. 16th, Verizon got rid of Annual Upgrades not 1 year contracts. An annual upgrade allows someone on a 2 year contract to upgrade their phone after 12 months from the start of their 2 year contract. The price of the upgrade is the 2 year subsidized contract price + an upgrade fee (usually $20) and requires them to sign another 2 year contract.

A 1 year contract increases the cost of the phone from $40-80. The upside is the customer can upgrade their device after 10 months from the start of their contract, instead of after 20 months on a 2 year contract.

The other things Verizon changed on Jan. 16th was getting rid of the New Every 2 discount and changing the phone return period from 30 days down to 14days.

Existing customers (signed up before Jan. 16th) are able to use either their NE2 credit or annual upgrade 1 more time.

Heres the order i saw.

Do not know what the first phone is(I thought it was the G2 but there is no trackpad, no branding at all)

EVO(See the Sprint Logo and FFC)

HTC G2(Keyboard, Tmobile branding)

EVO again(Kickstand, but also notice the ports are on the bottom of the phone, so it's not the TB)

HTC Incredible

EVO Again(Or maybe the EVO Shift. See Sprint branding)

Thunderbolt(FFC Verizon Branding)

It does seem strange that even if it doesn't launch until the end of the month that VZW is being so quiet about it. Maybe they'll surprise us with a huge ad campaign shortly. Ok, you all can all have a laugh on that one :) I find this whole "Hail the iPhone" mentality to be very annoying and totally unecessary. I still think if they launched them both on the same day or even TB first, if you want an iPhone that's what you're gonna buy. If you want a TB that's what you're gonna buy.
