I inquired at my local BB about any new Thunderbolt news. The girl in the mobile department said the delay was because of the overwhelming demand for the device so they are stockpiling enough Thunderbolts at their warehouses until they have enough to meet demand and that HTC has not been able to meet the demand. REALLY? They are stockpiling Thunderbolts? HAHAHA!

Does BB just make stuff up on the fly to get customers out of their faces? This is prevalent in every single BB department. Don't go to BB looking for accurate information on ANYTHING!

I was just in my local BB and I was one of 3 people who had preordered the TB.

They are probably sick of all the people calling and showing up asking about this phone. If I worked there and was asked the same question over and over about a phone they have no information to give on... I would be making up stories too just so I would have something new to say. I remember when I was there the day before the iPhone was released for Verizon. To put it in nice words... the two employees that were speaking to each other were not looking forward to dealing with all the people the next day.

Best Buy....I use to think it would be funny if they got the phone a day or two later....now I think it would be hilarious if they got the phone a day or two earlier..cruel irony for the rest of us!

i just got off the phone with someone at the vzw store i go to. just said they dont have any info about release dates or anything, that he'd take down my info, and it sounded like they would get it the same time as bb. and that the only reason bb is taking pre-orders is because they usually get a smaller shipment vs. vzw getting a bigger shipment. so as far as i know, here it sounds like there isnt going to be a huge rush to my vzw store and they arent worried about pre-ordering. so is there any new news about bb having an exclusive release of the tbolt?

Exactly true. Best Buy employees are tired of getting calls asking for info when NONE of them know anymore than you. They dont hear much until Verizon/HTC announces, so be patient. If you pre-order, they will call you as soon as they have a phone in their hands waiting for you.

Right now the word on the street is that the TBolt will be sold with the exact same $29.99 data plans that we have today. Check back in an hour, I'm sure it may change

That could be one of the reasons for the delay. VZW bigwigs still debating whether to introduce tiered data plan WITH the Thunderbolt.

Sorry but look at all the other "words on the street"... Not much of anything there.

They should do 4G caps and leave 3G alone. Then sell a separate 4G sim card for the TB so those who don't have 4G won't pay for it. lol flame away.

Its a good compromise....the best Idea is to leave the plans alone...but we know thats going to be a lost cause. If only VZW listened to their customers...sigh..:-\

I am not sure but isn't 4G/3G based on the radio rather than the sim?

Im not sure how it works but i know the TB needs the sim card to use 4G. Which is why in all the reviews you see the Sim card slot. This isn't a world phone, it just needs a sim card for 4g. So if you take out the sim, you'll be on 3g. Which is what i'll probably do if im not in a 4g area.
