I am very happy with this phone ATM. Like most others I am a bit disappointed that HTC went with the battery they put in this device considering how powerful the phone is. Could always go for more battery life, but as long as it gets me through my work day as it has been I am satisfied.

Not sure what I'm going to do. I'll see what the people at the VZW store say today. The lady on the phone yesterday pretty much told me I was out of luck as far as the battery goes and if I didn't like the phone I could return it. She compared it to a laptop and that using it was going to eat the battery up quickly. I can go quite a while on wifi on my MacBook Pro without having to charge it.

I've been unplugged for 4 hours this morning, 4G, one phone call, 5 texts, checked five emails, NO browsing, NO facebook, display on <25%, GPS OFF, BT OFF. Facebook, Foursquare, and Twitter are NOT refreshing and I'm at 19% on the battery.

I have an extended battery that works really well but since there's no case that fits it and it doesn't fit in the car dock it's not practical all of the time.

I really like the device itself but HTC really screwed up with the battery. I'm tempted to wait for the Bionic but I don't want to risk losing unlimited 4G (I haven't been keeping up with the latest on that).

I hadn't planned on it but maybe I should just root and tweak it for performance.

Unfortunately, battery technology has not yet caught up. Nevertheless, I would continue to be patient and see what 3rd party Mfr's have to offer in the coming months. Rooting might not be a bad idea though to hold you over.

I was all set to keep it. Way faster than any phone I've had. I skipped over the fact it has no video out! Why? I just set my car up for it too.

I dont know what your doing but I got 12 hours with medium use with 4g on 100% of the time and the screen set to auto brightness. fb, twitter, music, ect syncing. texting iming, emailing, calling, pandora and music player, and played some games yesterday.
im not rooted or anything. stock battery as well.

its possible to get good life on the bolt.
good luck though.

Already said im returning it but i seen a few post about rooting and you know if you root the phone im sure you could make it alot better but i dont want to take the chance... They are going to have tons of new phone over the next 6mo and in 6mo i get my ne2 100 off so im going to wait it out. also the 4g i cant see them capping it when its not even out everywhere.... But who knows

I wouldn't hold my breath on 3rd party batteries, their track record is not the greatest.

What we need is a break through in battery tech - that could take ten years.

I ordered mine on a 1yr contract but the system billed me and locked me into a 2yr contract so I called em up and Verizon said I had to send the entire phone back and reorder because each contract is tied to the hardware (they're waiving the restocking fee because it was their mistake).

I dropped it off at the post office this morning, and I'm not sure If I'm going to reorder it. It IS a very very nice phone and I got to play around with it for a few day and use it day to day. Definitely a very big upgrade from my droid 1 but now that I got to play with it, the magicalness of it kinda wore off and I think I may just wait for the next biggest thing xD

I'm not sure even rooting would make it a "lot" better, but I agree, I don't want to take the chance. NOR do I think we should HAVE to go to such extremes just to make a product work. I think it's the manufactures job to make the product work.

If you don't re-order they probably will hit you up with the restocking fee no?

Definitely keeping mine. I was prepared to run over my Storm 1 but my sister wanted it, good riddance, hated that device! 2-3 battery pulls a day, unable to answer incoming calls, power cycle by itself and erased data.

Well they didn't specify that I HAD to reorder, they said they would waive the restocking fee when I sent this one back so that I could order another one.

But nowhere did they say that I was binded by anything that said I MUST reorder.

So yeah it kinda worked out in my favor.

Yeah I'm keeping mine. I love the phone, and the battery hasn't been a problem. I'll probably pick up the extended battery when I go on vacation though.

I'm keeping mine too. I'm glad I haven't had any of the problems others have had and now that my battery is conditioned I'm loving it even more. I'm still going to pick up another OEM battery to have for those days where I am away from a charger for long periods of time and using my phone heavily.

Keeping mine. While the extended battery adds a little bulk, it's giving me over 12 hours of heavy use all on 4G. I'll take that. Plus, love the camera.

The camera is pretty sweet. I took a picture on Saturday through a window in my house and it looks like I was outside when I took the picture. I am absolutely amazed by the camera.
