i'm using TMobile on my S22 Ultra (unlocked).

tried speedtest with both the firefox and chrome browsers.

my speeds are only around 60 Mbps to 120 Mbps. nowhere nearly as high as most of the other folks here.

may i ask specifically what other TMobile users are getting please?

thanks.

I'm on Tmobile with an unlocked S22 ultra...it's all in where you are and how strong their signal is. Screenshot_20220226-144106_Google.jpg

Alot depends on your area. In my small town it's around 60 Mbps. An hour away it was 360 Mbps! When I switched my Sim from my Fold 3 it would not recognize my mobile plan. All I got was a roaming signal. Tmobile set me up on the esim and it's SO much faster. Feels like I am on home wifi. Even with the slower connectivity.

thanks for all your replies. very much appreciated.

i wonder what i can and should do?

should i just call TMobile's 800 number and file a complaint or report of slow speeds? it's odd that i'm in a major city (very large) and my speeds are so slow.

i don't know what they are willing to do! they wouldn't send a technician to my local towers, right?

I would call and ask for technical support. Ask about esim. They will walk you through the process and send you a QR Code to scan.... Worth a try!

How's your speed with other phone?. It might be your area.

Unlock and T-mobile share the same hardware.

Plus, Esim and Physical Sim make no difference in network connection. They more about security.

I'm using unlocked Ultra on T-Mobile. My speeds are all over the place. They tend to be on all my phones though. Depends on the day, time of day, and where I test. So far I've gotten as slow as 46Mbps and as fast as 412Mbps.

How did your last phone fare in speed tests?

thanks for your comments.

i don't recall what my S21 Ultra did. this is due to so much time staying home over the last year, i was almost always on wifi!

even though i'm not trading in/boxing up my S21 Ultra till tomorrow, i don't want to pull the sim card out of my S22 Ultra and put it back in my S21 Ultra, especially since the S22 Ultra appears to be working fine currently. you know, count one's blessings when things are working well and don't mess with it too much!

maybe i'll need to call TMobile.

it might be wise to wait a week or two since their tech support must be really busy with all the new customers getting the new Samsung phones this week, right?

Test and compare with your old phone side by side. If it isn't worse than your other phone, it may not be defective. If your old phone doesn't have 5G capability, maybe see if there is a setting to force the phone to top out at 4G on the new one, and then compare.

Or... pick up another identical S22U model and compare, for peace of mind.

I'm in the USA in GA and this is on my locked T-Mobile 5g. This is terrible. Will call them tomorrow.Screenshot_20220226-224744_Speedtest.jpg

Hi @smooches680:

this is the low end of my so called 5G speed too. generally, i've seen it from around 40 Mbps to around 120 Mbps.

still, my range is very low compared to many of the folks who kindly posted here on this thread.

what do you think TMobile will do? they won't likely send someone to YOUR or MY particular cell tower and actually work on it to fix it, right? you think they'll just remotely adjust our respective cell towers to give it an extra boost?

They're not going to send anyone to "fix" the towers. If your phone is working properly with these numbers, the towers are probably too far away and/or there are enough obstructions along the way to damp the signal. I assume probably the most they can do is perform some diagnostics with the SIM in your phone to see if it's performing as it should. If it bugs you, I would try to pick up another S22U (same specs) and test. If it performs similarly, you can probably rule out your phone as the culprit.

I'm chatting now with a Sprint T-Mobile tech support and she claims my speeds are good. She's crazy.Screenshot_20220226-224744_Speedtest.jpg

Yes.. I would have considered them low on my S10 4G. I guess I was lucky and in a strong Sprint/T-Mobile area.

Do you know if you're getting regular 5G or 5G UC? Regular 5G can sometimes be slower than 4G LTE. 5G UC (Ultra Capacity) is the faster one. I get 250-500 Mbps on T-Mobile 5G UC. Regular 5G runs 75-150 Mbps. I'm rarely on regular 5G in my area, usually 5G UC.

I'm on Tmobile Many factors.

1. location... i might get 300 at home, drive a mile away and get 700mbps
2. Time of day (network congestion). at home at 4 in the morning I easily get 500. As the day goes on, more people wake up and get on the network speeds will drop, sometimes below 100.
3. The speedtest... I use the speedtest by ookla app. It lets you choose servers to connect to. One server I might get 500, and another server I might get 200.

I suggest trying it around 3 or 4 in the morning if it really concerns you and see what you get then. Also find out where the towers are and drive close to one of them and see what you get.

The app open signal will show you the towers in your area, and which one you are connected to.

In ookla how do you change it ie what signal phone bounces on
