Just got this back from Motorola:

Thanks for reaching out to Motorola. I?ve reviewed your e-mail and I?m ready to help.

Regarding your concern, the second screen protector that you see is a screen protector of the corning gorilla glass. It is not advised to remove it from the phone as it may void the warranty of the phone.

We hope that you find this information useful and look forward to assisting you in the future

Too bad they failed to mention that it makes the phone completely unresponsive at times...lol. Why in Gods name would removing a piece of plastic void a warranty? It sounds like bulls**t to me...

Can you tell me who at Motorola sent you that?

I call shenanigans. Gorilla Glass needs NO screen protector, it's almost indestructible. Search YouTube for Gorilla glass.

As far as I see it, as long as you put another protector over it, there shouldn't be a problem.

I just reported what was sent back to me

I seen on one of the other site's that it is an anti radiation screen protector, and that was the reason it was so thick... I just know my screen looks and works better with out it on.

I've put a Zagg shield on mine after pulling off the p.o.s. original protector and the phone is much more of a joy to use!

I had the original screen protector on and i had a lot of issues i plucked it off and did a factory reset and its fine now. I put a zagg on it tho. Its nice i like it.

I'm stoked i get a free screen protector. The response seems to be an issue with the phone itself. My 2nd Triumph had response issues my first one didn't and now my 3rd one doesn't. Idk I'm keeping mine on for all its worth, when I experimented and took it off my other one it didnt really make a difference. But if ur itching to open to Pandora's box u should do it. Beautiful gorilla glass underneath...

I am not so sure about the protector being the sole cause of responsiveness issues. I removed the second protector this evening. The feel of the glass is MUCH better as is the clarity. Responsiveness seems to be better but it could also be attributed to the feel of the glass. However, since the removal I encountered a situation where the home button would not respond while everything else did. Otherwise I'm happy to have removed the screen.
