Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

Wait and see.....even if it does roll tomorrow it will be in waves over two months like the Droid 2.2 rollout. So you could have it the day of release or cussing Verizon why your phone hasn't received it yet. Unless its just amazing, I'll stick with the Devs and customs ROMs.

Update tomorrow?? that would make my week for it to update  but that being said , Nope I don't feel it so that answer would be , No

I wouldn't hold your breath. At this point, I just don't care anymore. I don't need it bad enough to root so I'm fine with waiting. As it has been said countless times in these forums, if you can't wait then stop complaining and go for Root! ;-)

I soooo, want to go back to a custom rom, but my company just put in some new servers that will let me get corporate email on my Droid. The catch: it detects if your phone is rooted and you are denied the service.

Bummer, trapped by my own company. They are doing the same thing for jailbroken iphones.

OT, but my bro's company refuses to support android...they said maybe if it gets Froyo.

Still unconvinced until Verizon puts out their usual typical PDF about "how to update" and the expected features. When that arrives, I think we'll definitely be getting Froyo imminently, but until then I remain skeptical. It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised and proved wrong over the next few days, however.

ITS COMING TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CS JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ME ABOUT THE SPEAKER PHONE ISSUE!!!

They said the echo and the screen outdoor visibility as well as flash player are addressed in the update.

However it is coming to specific markets so it is a soft roll out to no overload the system!

I am believer!!! WOW.....

I didn't ask, they told me about the update.....he was very specific about it, etc.
He told me about the delays to fix the echo and that is why it was delayed.
I didn't mention a thing to him.

if there was an update coming tomorrow they would've released a pdf outlining the update. We've seen this with all other updates.

Techs know nothing. Call back and ask another tech and see what they say. Someone here said a tech told them the update has been out for a month...

Awesome, so you're saying the update is a whole new phone? I can't wait till i get the email from Verizon on when they'll be shipping me a different phone with a totally different screen technology.

Crank your brightness up to 100%. Walk outside... no matter what that's about the best your phone is going to get outside and software isn't likely to do anything to help.

This is the reason these rumors always seem false, Verizon reps know about zero about our phones.

You can modify the software to brighten the screen beyond the previous setpoint for 100 percent brightness most likely. Although I doubt this is the case... It is interesting a tech confirmed the update tomorrow...although he is most likely on board with the Mashable rumor hahaha. Every time I have spoken to CS they deny knowing anything which is what I thought was what usually happens. However, one should never believe anything but an official VZW document.

I know, but the echo/ os fix can be done ota....Hey I take it with a grain of salt too but he was specific, didn't stutter about it and I didn't even ask about the update.

I think maybe the screen issue would be regarding the auto brightness? dunno.

I am calling back and on hold right now and they said basically the same thing.

As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with 2.1 and it works phenomonally well. Maybe I'm skewed because I came from a clunky Storm 2 but even if they stopped making updates, I'd be perfectly happy with this O/S. In six months we'll all be tired of Froyo and by speculating about the next update and so on and so forth. It's a never ending cycle of short term satisfaction followed by long term anticipation.

We all seem to get along just fine with the same desktop computer o/s for years at a time. Why are we so impatient with our little pocket computers?

Maybe someone should just come out with Android Cyberdyne which would create updates and new o/s's for itself as needed. Oh that's right, it would end up creating Terminators. Nevermind.

Encouraging news, I guess.

Note: I called CSR and the female said she wasn't sure and VzW is still working on a fix in my area. Dunno what to make of it..

The in-store reps are the LAST to know much of anything. And it's even worse if its a non-corporate store.

Here's a screenshot of the email from a supposed CSR:

Please note: I didn't claim to get this email, it came from this thread and I just asked the submitter for a screenshot. If it doesn't come to pass don't blame me! Don't kill the messenger! :)
