if you take the update OTA then yes you will lose root, but you could always go this route......

I have not received the OTA yet, but...

You can all stop saying where you are located. One of the reasons for the phased rollout is so Verizon doesn't tax localized areas with a bunch of people downloading the update at once. Thus, its not like they say, "OK, today, we'll update Oklahoma. Tomorrow, we'll give it to Texas and Connecticut." This is probably very randomized, pulling a few people from different area codes. So, just because you're in Seattle and not getting it doesn't mean no one in Seattle will get it.

I know that there are a lot of happy campers today. I haven't gotten my update yet, but it kinda feels like the night before X-mas, doesn't it! Just remember, patience is a virtue. It might take several days to rollout the OTA, but it will get here.

I was reading on vzw forums and I think its is going to start maybe at 1 pm eastern time. But thats just my guess from what I read . I know I wont get it today ,odds against me on that. Still hoping of course

Official 2.2 vs Leaked 2.2

First time poster, long time lurker.

If I've rooted my phone and have the leaked OTA (2.15 radio, s-off) from a week or two ago (not the latest RUU), while I still be notified there's an update available for my phone?

Rolling launch

It is a rolling launch by HTC. The 2.2 will continue each day until they upgrade every active SN for the device. I haven't gotten mine yet but hoping I'll get it some time this weekend.

FYI The 2.2 is going to disable the recovery mode in hopes of stopping rooting.
