Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

Re: Froyo coming on August 18th

I think you are right actually... Still going to be up so ok by me

flipped192 has posted a total of 1 comment ever on these forums. That one. So, yeah...it's BS.

Not really....a lot of long-time lurkers tend to come out of the shadows and make their first posts when downloading a major update. Not saying I necessarily believe this post, but just saying.

As for me, the wait continues..

You know waiting up for an update is dangerous and crazy. I have to be awake because I am working till at least 8 am est. Go to bed relax and see in the morning if it dropped.

Was just talking to an old college buddy of mine with VZW Systems Analysts and his description to me was (as he is reading from his notes) Froyo OS 2.2 will roll out 10000 downloads at a time, this incremental rollout will prevent overload of channel and if early errors noted, better "damage control". Problem is, that next wave cannot begin until all 10000 are complete. That being said he told me it is not uncommon for the complete rollout to take greater than a week.

I know this is Dinc forum, but I was just looking at a coworkers Motorola Droid today since she got the 2.2 OTA and its the old build. Why is that? I hope we get the newer build. Anyone know whay this may be?

yea people please post on here if you get it today, so the rest of us can respond in anger filled jealousy. haha

It might take a while, not even everyone w/Droid 1's have gotten FroYo, yet it would be nice to have an official announcement.

Did he mention a start date?

He said it would roll out as advertised on the 18th. There will evidently be no rhyme or reason to who gets the first rollout. Half of his dept with Dinc's dont even have it. I asked about root and they are forbidden to root due to their exchange servers. Didn't know that made a difference but it is not allowed within VZW for those with exchance mail

yea its all very sketch but who knows, they don't seem to treat the dinc the same way that they do the droid1

As stated somewhere earlier, they will probably wait to finish the Droid before they start anything else to help control the bandwidth they will be using to push it out.

As lots have already said, I'll believe it when I see it.

(optimistically keeping my fingers crossed. ;)
