Is there a way to upgrade to froyo without wiping your phone and still be able to reverse it when the official ota comes out?

Woke up this morning and looked at my Dinc for an update, nothing!!!! ohwell, took a shower and got ready for work, went downstairs and my wife (not phone savvy) says " what's my phone doing?`" of course to tease me more, her Moto Droid is updating to 2.2 LOL!!! great way to start the day!

just gonna go ahead and say that if you all want it this bad then go ahead and grab sky raider 2.5.2 its def worth it, it was painless for the most part to do. and if its not for you then go back to stock not hard to do either..

You mean "if android does a better job at writing OS than rim did". I saw first hand how many builds failed testing before one was released...trust me, we're nowhere near that point just yet.

I feel the same about no longer having a Pre Plus. I like this waiting for an update which adds features and gives us bonuses to a phone that already works, instead of never getting an update that has promised fixes to features that should work already.
