Re: [Tool] - CleanTOOL 1.1 - 11/29 - Even Cleaner than Before!

How about this? How to set up ADB (Android Debug Bridge) in Mac OSX ? Esau Silva

You should only need to adjust the script a little. Remove the @'s .exe's and change the \ to / and REM to #. I'll work up a port on Linux and post it. Should work for the Mac as well

Very cool man, very cool!

Awesome. Trying it when I get home. Thanks

I just uploaded a linux version to Scott for his approval. If he signs off on it I'm sure he'll update the official download. If you want to try it I can send it to you off the books.

awesome little script, thank you so much. Now, can we disable this IQ thing that is all the rage/buzz right now? :)

Do we even have it?

From all current testing Carrier IQ is not on the Rezound, or any Verizon Android phone I've owned.

Supercurio developed an app on the market called "Vodoo Carrier IQ." Check it out.
It lists several different logging types with Carrier IQ at the top of the list. It gives you a yes or no answer, followed by a confidence score, which is more or less the app saying to you "I'm __% positive this thing is on/not on here."
However, because the app is literally only a few hours old, the confidence score for the Carrier IQ itself seems a little buggy.

I scored 100 (not a full score, some people on the reviews have gotten a 400!) on the Rezound, but everything under the list came up pretty much negative, save for that TellHTC stuff.

Re: [Tool] - CleanTOOL 1.1 - 11/29 - Even Cleaner than Before!

Hi guys, I'm a noob here. I've only owned a Droid X prior to my Rezound. Getting rid of bloat sounds like a great thing! Never rooted before so what the heck... Thanks, for the CLEAN TOOL, BTW! I'm getting ready to try it out, but I have a couple questions first.

Is it easy to get the phone back to it's origianl stock state for warranty issues (just in case)?
What are OTA updates?
Will this clean tool free up memory (RAM) and storage?

Thanks in advance for answers.

Welcome to the club. It's very simple to get the phone back to stock. All you need to do is turn off the phone, turn it back on holding power and volume down. This will boot you into recovery mode. From there select Factory Reset.

OTA stands for "Over The Air" It's the preferred method for the manufacturer to send us O/S updates.

Freezing/disabling apps will free up RAM but not storage since you're not actually deleting anything, just disabling it.

Sorry, a few more questions. Is this the package for the HTC USB Sync driver that is refered in the Clean instructions? HTC SYNC 3.0.5606 FOR HTC Rezound™ | 11.14.2011 149 MB, from HTC's support page. Or is there a better place to just get the USB sync driver? Does the phone auto install the sync driver when connected, and I already have it? Sorry for the noob questions... :D

I believe that the Sync driver gets installed when HTC Sync is installed. I have the same program installed and have the Sync driver installed also.

Re: [Tool] - CleanTOOL 1.1 - 11/29 - Even Cleaner than Before!

Another noob here. First, thanks for this tool! I've got it to run, but the apps are still showing up. I've restarted the phone a couple of times, and re-ran the tool and they're still not going away. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but is anyone else having this problem?

Over on Gizmodo or Lifehacker, I forget which, they said that TrevE's app was only compatible with certain phones, and I don't remember seeing the Rezound on the list. The benefit of TrevE's though, is that it can supposedly remove it, so the donation is worth it.

As far as I know, the only thing you need is root and it works. But I could be wrong...as I have been many many times before.
