Torn between 120Hz and QHD

120hz reduced battery life on the S20 Ultra around 20%, unless they managed to change that on the Note 20 Ultra I wouldn't use it. There are still a lot of apps that don't support it, video and games don't support it, it's a drain on battery just to have a smoother UI and browsing experience.

This is true and there will be slightly less power usage with the adaptive 120hz. I personally wasn't drawn to the 120hz screen and although it's set on adaptive right now it really wasn't a deal breaker when I purchased the phone, but it is there so why not :)

I have said this before but I absolutely see zero difference between high refresh rate screens and ones without them. Moving between various phones I have zero problem adjusting, probably a blessing that I can't make out difference

But still what the heck I keep it at 120 hz, I could start using another phone without 120 hz and have zero problems adjusting to it. And this isn't my first 120 hz or high refresh rate experience, I have had plenty of them and every time I have had the same experience.
I'm with you... I can't see the difference at all.

I've gone back and forth between the two on my Samsung.

Its a easy win for the 120hz, HUGE DIFFERENCE.

I definitely think the 120Hz vs 60Hz is the biggest noticeable difference. I really only miss WQHD+ when watching YouTube videos that support 1440p resolution. Other than that, I see no difference in the resolution.

The only downside is the battery drain. I'm hoping my N20U is still settling in and the battery drain will get better, but it's pretty bad right now. Even with the phone off sitting on the table, I have a drain. My Note10+ was solid on battery life.

So is there a setting to turn on 120hz or is it automatic? I don't see any display setting that even mentions this. All I see for options is HD+, FHD+, and WQHD+.

Found it but it won't let me enable it due to my display setting being at WQHD+. I tried changing it and it still won't unlock the setting. What do I need to set my display at to unlock the setting?

120hz only works with FHD+. You must first change that then you can enable the motion smoothness.

Figured it out by looking at your screenshot. Changed it to FHD+ and it unlocked the setting. Thanks for the help!

I have it set to 120 Hz, but to be honest, I can't tell the difference between the resolutions or the Hz.

I see the difference between 60 and 120, but to be honest I'm not nearly as impressed by it as most people seem to be. I have it on 120 for now. Not sure if I'll keep it on that or not though.

I agree. I rarely scroll that fast where it would ever make a difference. Typically scroll slowly to see what I want to find. Mind you I can't see any difference between fhd and qhd either on this great display so likely will leave it at 120.

Lol I have perfect vision, that's got to do nothing with this.

May be different people experience thing differently

If your definition of perfect vision is that you see 20/20 or better, then that may not explain things fully. Can't say if there is any particular visual sensitivities that don't allow some people to see high refresh rates, but I do know some people see a rainbow effect when watching TV on DLP TVs. Perhaps something similar going on?

I don't think of 120 as fast, I see it being smoother. None of that choppy scrolling

I do not see any difference whatsoever. I want to see a difference so I feel like I am actually making a choice, and I keep switching back and forth between the two, but I don't even know what I'm looking for. Even the two graphics in the settings don't look any different to me. Is this on websites that you'd see the difference? Could someone give me an example of where to look where it would be noticeable?
