Touchscreen responsiveness wacky

Well i haven't had the same issues with the touch response since I made the last batch of changes. I also changed my device to password lock from slide but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I had some minor issues for a couple of days, but on Monday it got really wacky. In any keyboard entry on the screen the Nexus 7 continually entered the letter "e" or the number "3" often numerous times like "eeeeeeeeeeeeee". I tried rebooting and it did not help Finally did a factory reset but it was so bad that I couldn't even enter my password to set up.
I contacted Google and they said it was a over-responsive screen and said they would replace it. It has been three days and the replacement still hasn't been sent out.

I wonder if Google is sending out a lot of replacements. I am not impressed with their customer service. In the past, I have had a Kindle drop (my fault) and Amazon replaced it overnight. In this case it is a defective unit and Google is taking forever to send out a replacement. I asked if they could just replace my money so I could buy one locally, but since it was 5 weeks old (beyond the 15 day limit) they couldn't offer a refund. If Google wants to compete with Amazon's customer service they should give their representatives more flexibility.

Hey guys, i am having the same issues with my Asus 300. Since the jelly bean update the tablet took a down ward trend. The keyboard is completely out. Just like what he said above. I have reset so many times still no luck. There was an update today. Will reset again. Hopefully Asus has fix the issue. Before jelly bean, the tablet was perfect. Sad. Really sad and disappointed

Could be a messed up digitizer or a line of code idk there mite be a bug fix coming soon

After updating my nexus 7 to 4.2 I have been having severe touch screen issues. Some of my touched don't register and sometimes if I'm not touching the screen it will click randomly. It will click if I don't touch the screen. Anyone else having this issue?

any time you're dealing with any manufacturer it's going to take forever. when you send a device back to the manufacturer they run it through a bunch of tests to see if it's a part they can replace/fix or if they really do need to send you out a completely new device. think of it this way...fuel pump goes out on your car. you don't get a whole new car, you just replace the broken part. same thing for tech gadgets. it's not very cost effective to send you a whole new device if it's just a matter of one new part and a tweak.
