Trade-In rejected! 😡

Wow. That's great to know. I wonder if this is standard practice with other places that recieve trade-ins, like phone carriers.
Oh.my.gaaawd I traded in 2 phones the past two years back to my carrier ATT. First time they said it was damaged and was charging me my balance of $800 something though it too was flawless. I argued with them and after some research on their end, credited me back.

Recently I had to return another cell back and this time they said they never received it and was charging me $1k. I argued with them again and after numerous long phone calls i received a credit.

I'll never, ever want to go thru that again. Cool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice ummm spank me, fool me three oh you get it haaaa

During my last trade in with ATT I had issues with the mail in process, and vowed to never do that again. In the future, I'll take my phone to an ATT store for any trade in offer

I was so hesitant to send my trade in back and actually told the CS rep at the store I was only going to do the trade in if I can hand him my phone and not mail it in. He said no problem so I preordered my phone and when I went back his manager said no I had to nail it in ugh.

ATT didn't claim that it was broken when they received it but instead said they never received it at all. I was informed of this when they were charging me the balance of $1k like 3 months later. It's a good thing I still had the USPS receipt for whatever reason. I'll never mail anything back to them since it seems they obviously have a broken process. Can't lie

PS I was getting PTSD just reliving and remembering the hours I spent talking with their CS Dept.

ATT must have requested the absolute slowest version of USPS shipping available.

After 9 days (not business days, but still) USPS gave me my first update letting me know the package traveled from my suburb of Columbus to Columbus.

Just for reference, I can walk that distance in one day. I'm glad I was fairly proactive at getting mine shipped, because despite the fact that I have 30 days from the activation of my S24U at this rate, it's going to take the entire time to get there.

At least yours got there!! The scans I had on mines was them taking possession of my cell and pooooof that's it. GONE!?!?

I gave ATT the tracking number that I thankfully saved and when they checked and saw the scan that it was received by USPS then they simply said okay never mind. Don't pay us $1k ?!?!

Oof, the AT&T talk gives me trauma flashbacks. From Alaska, it took a solid month to get to the place and their tracking was never updated. But, they wouldn't let you pay to ship any faster or track differently. So one year, they claimed they never got three phones and in spite of MANY years as a customer and showing my slip that they were passed/accepted to USPS, photos to include the boxes/labels while at the USPS, etc... we had to pay. Vowed never again with them. At the time, unsure if it's changed for us here, they wouldn't accept anything in person either.

That's why I decided to try Samsung directly. They ship everything to us 2nd day, and our return labels are 2nd day. I've yet to hit a snag, knock on wood, and I'm relieved to see how easily most issues reported here seem to be quickly resolved with photos, proof of acceptance, etc.

This year was the fastest yet. Dropped Thurs afternoon at FedEx, and within 24 hours one phone was received and accepted, with the second notice coming this morning - complete in spite of several fine scratches (no cracks; I'd given photos via chat + their note saying it'd be fine ahead of time that I took screenshot of as backup, just in case).

One more turn in to go, I only just got that phone.

ATT is the worse when it comes to their logistics of receiving trade ins or returns. Preordering and getting a spanking brand new phone is easy peasy as my little one would say but send one back ummmmm never!!

You and I will soon wake up in a cold sweat one morning next week because of these posts

My trade in with ATT went smooth. Package was picked up by Pitney-Bowes at my local post office. I had plenty of pictures to show no damage and a short video of my working phone just in case.
Forgot to post. I sent mine in Monday (2/5/24), it was received Wed, and I got the accepted email yesterday. (Sat.)
You're both very fortunate that the process with your ATT return went smoothly. The last two returns I had were disasterou. Can't lie!

First time they claimed my return was damaged and it was not. It was honestly 100% in perfect condition. Second return a year later they didn't say it was damnit instead claimed they never received it. I provided a tracking number that I was about to throwaway that showed it was reviewed.

Both times I argued asking if they were going to lose me as a customer after 15 plus years of me being with them with Autopay and 4 lines and they didn't give a rat's ass tbh. Never again would I put myself thru that torture again!!

Ouch!! I don't blame you. With Samsung I've experienced smooth sailing so far, but I would definitely do a Best Buy preorder pickup if I ever lost a significant amount of $$. The mail in trade in route is the easiest for me, but its a total crap shoot.

I know my husband secretly enjoyed my horrible experience with ATT's CS since he's been trying to get me to nov rto his carrier aaaand now I won't flip my phones every year which is what I had done like for the last 10 years or so. I've promised myself there is no way in Hell that I'll ever do s return with ATT.

There is no way of trading in a cell anymore without sending it back to them via carrier. We can't simply drop the return to s store which I would only do but cannot. Oh well?

Not even at BB via AT&T?

I've never gone the carrier route with preorders because they want to lock you in for the credit. I'd simply do my annual walk in on release day and grab my NOTE.

Then I found these lovely enablers on the forums bragging about their early arrivals and free goodies. I've been pre-ordering via Samsung since the Note 8 I believe.

I'm sorry I am not familiar with BB policy regarding a carrier's return. I've only done the trade ins and returns via ATT itself. May be an option I can explore when It's time. I get bored easily and often want new things haaaa!?!? My husband hates that about me!

I sent my trade in 2 /3 they received it 2/9.nothing from Samsung since
Mine was received on 8 February, but I haven't heard anything since.
The email you get says it can take 14 days to be examined. I traded in a watch awhile back and received the email they got it but didn't hear anything for a month. Never received a charge back email, not charged...I just out of the blue received a email from Samsung saying they manually approved my trade in. I think Samsung lost it and and after a set time Samsung gets notified of no action and just approves it since they see it was received.

That's how it went for me anyway on one that they never inspected for whatever reason.

I know they said up to 14 days. It's just odd to me that it's taking so long because last time mine was approved the same day they got it.
