Trade In Thread

Well we are headed to Fed-Ex in a bit and I know this won't matter but on the back of the label I put inside the box I wrote I have video and pics phone in mint condition with Zagg protector and always been in a case. I'm sure they either won't see it or ignore it. I can't believe how many people they are trying to scam. And I don't get it your supposed to get $500 right but their saying you will be charged $155. I will call then chat with them dispute with my credit card and complain and bad mouth them everywhere if it happens to us. It's Crazy!
Maybe include pictures taped to the phone.

Just got the email from Samsung that my trade was accepted. Mine was sent to Tennessee.

Our return label said Texas and we took ours to Fed-Ex Saturday. I need to check my tracking. I am worried, Can't believe their doing this to so many people. We used to just do Best Buy and one time I still got the buds but it took longer to get the phone. But trade in was good at the time.
 
I wonder why no one has put up any articles about this. I am sure the issue is more wide spread and more reports would come in other than those that are reported here. Just like others, Samsung (and their partners) should be held accountable if there is this kind of wide spread potential fraud with returned devices.
 
Well, I'm the latest cracked screen victim. Luckily it only took about 45 minutes to be fully resolved. It actually took more time to get an actual person to chat with then it did for them to resolve. I was told "you're trade in was manually completed". Any opinions on whether their inspection is some sort of automated system?

Yeah something has to be broken from a system perspective that's sending these broken screen alerts from Texas trade in center.

Otherwise, it'll be ridiculous that someone is trying to scam most trade-in from Texas.

Any who sent trade in to Texas trade in center and didn't get cracked screen email? We know Tennessee trade in center doesn't have any problems.

My return arrived in TX Friday, no cracked screen email. Instead I received the "Because we received an empty shipping box from you.. you will be charged". The same email I received last year as well!

I contacted them via chat, shared all my pics and they reversed their decision. When I dropped it off at FedEx and was taking pics the employee fully understood why and said it was a know issue w/in FedEx.

I shared the IMEI number and asked if they would blacklist the device, they replied " If I would like them to". They never answered my question on chat asking why there were so many false cracked screen reports and missing devices.
 
Conspiracy theory: Samsung, carriers, and delivery services are in cahoots, hence low trade in values when purchasing directly from Samsung and Samsung sending all these false cracked screen emails. This is a direct push to have consumers purchase from carriers and do in store trade in. Delivery folks are tired of dealing with us doing this bs twice a year. They want us to go in store and leave them alone.

I need a break from all these numbers on my screen, so I let my mind run away after reading through this thread.

Lol I'm not buying carrier branded devices even if they pay me

If Samsung really wanted people to buy only carrier devices then they could have just not sold the unlocked devices. So I don't buy that conspiracy theory. Also, you can buy the official unlocked model in-store from best buy and do their trade in at store if you prefer.

It's just incompetence and the trade in issues happen even for carrier devices in certain instance. Also, we aren't seeing this widespread issue from Tennessee trade in center. Something really fishy with Texas trade in center.

Lol, Same!!! I hate those logos splashed across my screen. And hmmm...I live in TX. I'm sure I can come up with something else outlandish on my next break.

I just dropped off my S23U return, so I'm gonna be on pins and needles til this is squared away. Its unnerving to see so many issues.
 
Wew! I’m glad I came on here. I missed the whole shipping threads this year, lol. I’m having the same issue, returned trade-in in great condition, and got the dreaded cracked screen email. I’ll have to call them tomorrow morning. This is insane. Last year they claimed the box was empty, now this. This may be the last time I use Samsungs trade-in program.
