Trusted Bluetooth Devices

I'm using a pebble watch as a trusted Bluetooth device. S far it's working exactly as it should. I think there was one time I was prompted for my pattern to unlock when I know the pebble was attached (if I remember right, it happened after my phone spontaneously rebooted), but that was fine.

Well. I thought, hmmm, maybe I could put the Pebble watch in my pocket. $150. I guess not.

O well, we'll see what happens. I'm not really too convinced by that answer though, I feel like if the phone supports the BT profile being used, it should be able to pair, it just wont function as an alarm without the app. Are there any BT devices people know of that will only pair through an app?

I've been looking at this feature myself. I'm not really interested in BT that isn't LE, as that would require too much maintenance. The BT LE devices are new, but it appears to me that they will be recognized easily but won't connect without the app. And it seems to me that they generally don't maintain constant connection so they will be worthless for this application. Hope I'm wrong!

Can I use the Insite LBT505 and another Bluetooth device like my Fords sync System or bose head phones at the same time? I'm a bit bummed that it doesn't work with the Fitbit Flex yet. I'm excited to try the phone out next week when I get it. :-D New tech rules

Unfortunately not. One connection at a time.

Not entirely correct: one connection to the same type at a time but multiple connections to different types of devices are supported: you can connect a hear rate monitor and headphones at the same time

Makes sense. Haven't tried that combination. I did try to pair the phone with a portable speaker and LBT505. The portable speaker has a "speakerphone" option. I kept "media audio" checked on the portable speaker, unchecked "phone audio" from the portable speaker and kept "phone audio" checked on the LBT505. The LBT505 would not stay connected in this scenario.

Reading up on the LBT505 its pretty easy to turn off/on- Power Off -Press and hold the Multi-Function Button for 4 seconds. The blue LED blinks 4 times until the power is off. (source-http://www.voxxintlcorp.com/docs/common/LBT505/LBT505_OM.pdf) my goal is to use this in my office and when i am not using bluetooth headphones for talking on the phone at home and to be able to use all the features that this phone comes with but still have it locked if it gets away from me. Best of both worlds. either way, going to have fun figuring it all out and i love the fact that i can use something like this. Android has come so far since my OG Droid. ;)

Has anybody who bought the Cobra Tag through Groupon got there's yet? Unfortunately they chose DHL to ship mine and they're pretty much the worst carrier ever. According to the tracking, the Tag started out in Ohio(2 1/2 hours from me) and got shipped to Kentucky (5 hours from me) and has been sitting there since Monday. Knowing DHL, I'm expecting to get it around Halloween.

I'm in the same boat. DHL, who knows when it'll get here. Not to mention they didn't send me a shipping notice for a few days. I ordered 8 days ago on the 10th. Got notification of shipment on Sunday the 15th. Probably got picked up Monady (I hope).

OK, it did get picked up on Monday. It departed their KY facility a couple of hours ago after a nice 2 day rest. Looks like USPS is delivering.

I guess, for $12 and change I can't complain too much.

I have my Droid Maxx connected to both my car stereo and my Pebble watch without any issues. Both are trusted devices. The stereo handles anything audio and text, while the watch shows all notifications (to annoying effect while driving). :)

Why on Earth didn't they also do Trusted Wi-Fi Devices? As long as the phone is in my house, it can stay unlocked.

No kidding. There's a market here waiting for the devices! I'm shocked that Moto failed to kick them out at the same time.

Can't you do that with Llama or Tasker?

Still learning Tasker but apparently it can't handle pattern unlock, and with PIN the keypad still comes up but you just have to hit return (it clears the PIN number but not the fact that it's still PIN unlock). At least on an unrooted phone.

Got my Cobra Tag today from Groupon. Charging it now. First impression is it's big, but looks like it's durable enough for the keychain. I'll post my impressions once I have a chance to play with it.
