Unfortunately, your bluetooth has stopped. How do I fix this?

Found what I think is a similar "solution." And by solution in quotes, I mean it mainly fixed the problem.

Once the phone is paired to the car, you can go in Bluetooth and see two options. The first allows features of the phone (like calls) be to connected via bluetooth to the car, and the other is for audio media. When I turned off the option to connect phone-related aspects of my cell to the car, the problem with bluetooth disconnecting stopped. However, I want to be able to accept calls via Bluetooth, so I turned this option back on and...

I un-paired, then re-paired my phone with with the car. However, this time, when the permissions pop-ups came up on my phone, I denied access to contacts. Now my phone rarely disconnects and reconnects repeatedly. I believe this is because the phone/car are trying to sync, or update, my contact list every time I connect. And I have a huge contact list as well, which can't help (and most contacts have facebook or email info, some just have that info and no phone number). Now my calls only show the phone number, but that is okay. Since then, the only time I've had problems connecting/disconnecting/re-connecting is when I've used GPS and Music at the same time - like when my phone and car are trying to sync contacts and play music at the same time, I think maybe the bluetooth connection gets overloaded or something, switching back and forth between applications? Anyway, the issue stopped after a few disconnect/re-connects. I had to restart my phone the next time I used it in the car. But generally, the problem has stopped.

I was having this same exact issue with a galaxy s6 and 2014 mazda 6. I tried everything else out there that I have read including clearing the Bluetooth cache, booting to boot menu and clearing cache there, even a factory reset. A factory reset worked for a couple weeks then I was back again. After reading something in this thread it sparked an idea. I unpaired the phone from the car and deleted the connection on both sides. When repairing and asked if I wanted to allow access to my messages I said no but said yes to contacts and phone log. It has been working now for a couple days straight with no issues. So there is some sort of issue with syncing messages on the s6. I don't really care to have it off as I rarely use it anyways. I just would always mark yes for the heck of it. Hope this helps some others as it drove me crazy!

Grrrr.... my problem came back out of the blue, although I had turned off profile sharing, and it seemed to work for a while.

Next I wanted to try your solution, where I re-pair the phone and the car without allowing access to messages.

That has worked for a few days now, but after seeing this problem coming and going so many times I just don't know if I believe it's permanent this time.

Thanks for the tip anyway! 😊

Hey - my fix, denying the car access to my phone's contacts, worked about 90% of the time (only occasional disconnects, and if it happens more often restarting the phone fixes it).
*Denying access to Messages did not have any effect on this problem for me*

However, I finally heard back from Honda and they suggested a $2 app that fixes a (somewhat) known issue regarding the way new versions of Android software communicate contact information via Bluetooth. The app is called Bluetooth Phonebook. I just downloaded this app this morning and tried it in my car for a bit. It seems to be working, however, as everyone noticed, sometimes something seems like a fix, then the problem comes back, so no guarantees!

Hi, I have the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2. It keeps saying "Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped" and the only choice you can do is to press ok. This keeps happening when I will connect it with my Divoom Voombox speaker that has bluetooth 4.0 . My phone also has bluetooth 4.0 Please help

Hi AJ Xenia ,

Firstly I would like to advise you that you're having a slightly different problem than me. You describe Bluetooth SHARE has stopped, whereas mine is 'just' stopping the bluetooth.

But maybe you could still have use for some of the possible solutions described in this thread.

I would recommend reconnecting the phone, denying access to messages as described above by Cush and TJack (see TJacks reply from the 7th of July above) in this thread. I tried many other things, including factory reset, but without success. The connection without access to messages has worked for a couple of weeks now.

Good luck and please share the results here.

Same issue with a Galaxy S5. Almost randomly 36 hours or so ago, it began sending "Unfortunately, Bluetooth has stopped" messages every minute or two - appears to be during scanning.

Since then, I've cleared cache, and now did a factory reset 3 times, always reducing what I am restoring from Google/Samsung. About the only thing I haven't changed is the basic IDs I use for my phone...

I also hadn't tried a safe mode boot until now.. which I did at about 9:50 local time. At 15:56, (6 hours?) the error occurred again. .. and then every minute or two thereafter, as bluetooth searches for devlces. (?).

So it's not an add-on app - even one of the few I've loaded since my last restore.

Hi Ianm-au.

Try and follow what I've written in post #26 right above.

I have tried many things, including factory reset. The problem always came back after a short time. Denying access to messages upon bluetooth connection helped me so far.

Pls let us know if you find this to be helpfull.

Thanks... but yes, read that...
Thing is... nothing is connected. So I don't have anything sharing (sms?) messages.

The one case I know of where I use that, is with a pebble smart watch; but it's not connected, and the application was removed in my factory resets. So it can't be that....

Can it? And if it is that.. how do I do it? All I have is a bluetooth capability; no connection, no (personal) app using it.

I've tried both of your below suggestions on my s5 and neither have worked. This seems like a common problem. Is there a fix yet?

I'm having the same issue with Bluetooth connecting and disconnecting every other minute with my car. (Corolla 2015). I've already done a factory reset and a "wipe cache partition" and nothing worked. My brother has the galaxy s6 edge and has no problems. This issue started after the last update, I'm starting to think that it's the update's fault. Is there any way we can contact Samsung and get this problem fixed ?

Is there a solution yet ? or is there a way to downgrade my phone's software without rooting? this problem is driving me crazy and I don't have any warranty o upgrade plan with t-mobile. I don't want to return my phone and lose money and then buy another phone.

Ok this is doing.my head in.. 3 month old s5. Having the same problem and tried everything... i wont even be connected to a bluetooth device but it will be On and every few mins it comes up on screen . Unfortunately, blue tooth has stopped working.
When i pair it to my samsung sound bar it cuts out after a few songs and the bluetooth has Stopped working comes up again... doing my head in

I see there are 11 bluetooth services running has anyone tried turning some of them off to see if one of those is the same problem?

I'm having the same problem with my new Note 5 and my 2014 Lexus IS350. This is the 3rd Android phone I've used with this car (Note 3, upgraded to Note Edge but couldn't deal with the battery life, now Note 5). Had the problem with the Edge, never with the 3, and now with the 5.

That smacks of software problem rather than hardware, and since all of you have the S6 and are xperiencing the same issue it seems to be more systemic than I thought. I wonder if Samsung knows about this issue and has a fix planned for the future?

Some of us have invested a lot of time in experimenting with different solutions. We have written about our efforts, and the solution we found in this thread.

You could save yourself (and us) some time by reading our suggested solution (see post #32), and give some feedback. If it works, like it. If it doesn't, then it becomes relevant to describe your problem in detail, including what you've tried to solve it.

Good luck!

Ok guys i found the "solution"... like someone said before, when pairing your phone DON'T allow messages and contacts to be synced with your car. You will still receive calls via bluetooth, but contacts will not show, just the number. This has worked for me and haven't had a problem yet . I have a galaxy s6 and my car is a corolla 2015.

Bingo! A confirmation that the trick described above, works for others, was what we needed!

Congratulations, Hugo!

Tip: I don't think you need to exclude contacts, though. The trick has worked for others by just excluding messages.

If you try this, won't you give us a message about your results?

This forum has been a great help. I have been struggling with my S6 edge and Mazda 6 since I had my phone in May.

Not allowing my car to access my messages seems to have resolved this problem for the time being. I am at last able to use my phone again whilst I drive.

Thanks for your help people

Has anyone tried downloading a new text messenger app, setting it as your default messenger then repairing your phone?

I deleted my profile from "Contacts" and then input my info again and that seems to have fixed it. Time will tell.
