Unlimited Data is back

The credit check is done for purchasing a phone on a device payment plan and it is used to determine if you will pay $0 down or a % is the MSRP as a down payment. It is also done in some cases when signing up for service on a postpaid account. For obvious reasons.

I haven't seen any credit check for dpp. But obviously when you open a post paid account then they will do a credit check. You might be able to opt out of a credit check if you pay a deposit.

It might be just because I normally work with people transferring to Verizon, but a lot of people are signing up for DPP with new accounts and they do a credit check and sometimes require a deposit for the DPP.

There should be a credit check even if you bring your own phone, no?

For new accounts it makes sense as they don't want you running off with the phone. I have added multiple lines on contract at the same time and no credit check was required but my line is well established with multiple lines already.

Well don't leave is hanging, what did you do, how did it turn out of you did it?

I ended up getting the unlimited, I had to put my social security number, I guess it's just so they can get back at you if you don't pay them, since I only want to use my own phone and not buy one from them. At first I thought it was a prepaid plan but I guess not. When I called them on the phone, they were much better than the online chat.

Now I just need to figure out how to enable HD voice or VOLTE from the verizon website, since my Nexus 6p loses data during a phone call.

edit: just asked them about it and they turned on HD calling, which made the setting appear in my nexus 6p

edit 2: is there somewhere that shows you how much tethering you've used? I found data usage but not tethering

For the tethering... Sadly no. I'm hoping they update the system to have it where you can see what you're at on it.

So it seems the MIL discount is on the line access (which I expected since I saw the line access drop from $20 to $16 for each line) but it seems to be taking some off the plan as well.

Cool :D.
