Unlocked Note 4, can get online without turning on data or wifi...

Hi all,
I have wi-fi off, data unchecked(off), I'm getting emails and if I click on browser - can browse web, if I want...
It saves me a battery actually, but still, why I have something running when I'm not asking for it, how to stop it with minimum effort?
Also have antivirus running with daily updates, no issues detected..
Please, help

Welcome to Android Central! That doesn't seem right. Are you browsing pages that have been saved for offline usage? If you go to Settings>Data Usage, does it show that data is actually being used, either on wi-fi or mobile data?
