Unpacked/preorder

Rakuten has 15% cash back on Samsung for cell phones today! You can order your phone via the Samsung site, using the Rakuten app, and you will get 15% cash back.

does all this mean we are NOT able to preorder, say at this moment, which is 40 minutes prior to the start of the Unpacked event?

one may preorder ONLY after the Unpacked event has started?

Correct. Last year, pre-orders opened a while after Unpacked began. Samsung's site was a mess for a bit though, so most were able to order after it was over.

Was able to grab the S23 Ultra 512GB when it went live at 1PM on T-Mobile! Shipping date says Feb 17, so not sure when to expect delivery. Anyone have a rough estimate?

I remember preordering awhile back and then after release they had an even better deal. What's up with that!!?!?

500 bucks trade in on a S22 Ultra when buying an unlocked version? I'm out!!

For Verizon one of the free offers is "As low as free Galaxy Wath or Galaxy Tab". It does say service plan required. Is this something that you could sell after getting it? I don't really have a need for either especially with the service plan.

Going with the regular S23 with the free 256GB upgrade. Hoping the larger bezels are not too noticeable.

I'm leaning towards not ordering. $500 for my S22 Ultra trade is not enough. Verizon will do $800 in bill credits, but if I'm going to go back to that commitment, I would need $1000 in bill credits. Plus I have gotten used to my unlocked devices...

Do you know how the bill credit works? They are offering $800 for my S21 and my balance for the regular S23 is $0? Will that $800 be a one time bill credit so basically I am not paying anything for the new phone?

It's equal monthly credits. Basically a 3 year contract

Even though I just bought two iphone 14 pro Max's (myself and wife) and two Apple watch 8 Ultras, I was thinking of getting an S23 Ultra as a backup phone. I have an S22 Ultra, a Z Flip 4, an S 22 + and a Watch 5 pro and I figured they would bring an S23 Ultra for nothing or near no added money but all three phones are mint condition and the watch is very good and I'm not giving them away so maybe this will be the first year in many, any years that I don't buy from Samsung.

Those trade in amounts just don't sound like the old Samsung.

The bill credit is applied on a monthly basis over the span of your contract. If you have a 36 month contract, would be $22/month.

You are basically signing a 3 year contract. It is split monthly for 36 months, and if you leave Verizon before the 36 months is up, you will owe the balance of the phone price, giving up the remaining credits.
I swore years ago when it was only 24 months that I would never do that again...
