So, I have had my Galaxy S7 Edge for about two months now. A day or two ago, whilst laying in bed and watching a film, my device suddenly turned to black screen. I noticed that even the sound of the film got stopped. As I was surely starting to freak out could see that both the capacative 'back'button and 'recent'button lit up. Then, while trying to see if the volumebuttons did anything, I noticed that they made a sound. As the device usually does when changing the ringer volume.
While trying to keep calm I started fiddling around with it. Then suddenly, when tilting the S7edge's display upwards, the display lit up again and worked perfectly. I then stopped to wonder for a minute and tried to redo the sudden problem. As the display lit up with it being tilted upwards I tried tilting the display down. And just like I thought, the displayed went black again.
This also happened the next night as I was laying down and playing Clash Royale. While in the main screen, of Clash Royale, the display went black. I tried pressing different parts of the display to see if the game would apprehend the touches. Amazingly it did. I kept touching where I know I had an unopened chest in game. As you know, if you play Clash Royale, the chest makes sounds when touching it. And just as before, the display turned back on when tilting it upwards.
So what I sum up from this ridicoulus problem is that that perhaps the setting for blocking accidental unlocks may be the cause. So, I switched the setting off. But the problem still hangs on. So what I believe is that there may be a serious issue with a sensor. I was thinking of going back to the retailer that I purchased the S7E from today after work. Maybe I could get some help there...
And of course, the holding down 'power' and 'volume down' button combination works as the device isn't really frozen, blocked/bricked or whatever, the device will obviously restart when doing a hard reboot. The issue will not get solved by this. It only helps getting the display back on because, as i believe, of the sensors getting restarted.
