So I'd assume that you would..
1) update using the unrevoked2 method with the file posted by the unrevoked2 team at public:evo_ota_2_patch [RootWiki] (I have *not* updated anything yet)

2) goto the xda site and download both radio and wimax update files
3) apply radio update (is it needed since it is included in unrevoked file?)
4) apply the wimax update
5) rock dat s**t!

Not sure if the above method will have EVERYTHING working with the new Sprint/HTC update, but all these patching makes me worried. IMO, we need a complete working package from unrevoked team before flashing anything. Who knows by patching the radio/wimax if it will affect future unrevoked updates.

Just remember, once you patch anything to the phone, it's possible it will removed the root, or removed the wimax function, and you may never get it back again...

That is what I was thinking (and why I am not updated yet).. but at the same time with unrevoked2 I have the clockwork recovery installed, so wouldn't you be able to roll back to a pre-updated state then from there apply whatever updates that fix issues? Or once it is updated that is final (meaning rolling back will not work)?

You are Exactly Correct...

Everything works perfect here...

And if your worried you can always reflash something Else...

Its the beauty of having full ROOT

Still no love for those of us who did the OTA update. Stupid, stupid, stupid... *hitting head into wall*

I've been avoiding rooting my phone just 'cause I don't really wanna deal with the hassles of ROMs and all that jazz. I did it back when I used Windows Mobile and one of my favorite things about moving to the BlackBerry (and subsequently the Palm Pre) was that I didn't have to do that to get the latest software.

But today I decided that I wanted to try the hotspot type thing. And wouldn't you know it, I can't get root now :(.

That's why I haven't did the OTA yet. I don't want to lose my hotspot.

I have not installed the OTA update. Right now, I do not have the need to flash roms. I liked having the ability with unrEVOked to root when necessary for Titanium Backup and wifi tether. Does anyone know/think we will be able to do this again after applying the OTA (with a new unrEVOked) or will unrEVOked2 be the only way to go?

Me too, I just want to use wireless tether and titanium backup. I had full root, but messing with roms wasn't my thing since I depend on my phone for work. I miss unrevoked!

Okay this one is answered.. not the way I wanted, but answered nonetheless.

It's unclear... Will unrevoked v2 work with the OTA update from earlier this week?

It would still be useful to add in:

How long should unrevoked 2 run to do its job? 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 hours?

When I ran unrevoked2 on my phone (software build version 1.32.651.6) it took about 5-7 minutes.

Basically plug the phone in (I think you need USB Debugging turned on - at least I had it turned on) then run the unrevoked2 app. (I did it on my Macbook Pro so it was simple point and click - windows needs to download additional files and instructions are available through unrevoked).

The phone will then reboot and you'll see a white screen with skateboarding androids. From there the app will tell you what to do on your phone and just follow the directions, and a few reboots later and you are all set with Clockwork Recovery!

Check out this video to see it in action... (keep in mind this video was made as a teaser before the program was released, but it works just the same)

I have been trying for 2 days to get unrevoked2 to work. I have installed all the drivers that are needed and followed the instructions to the letter. After the phone is put in HBOOT mode it reboots. After the reboot I get an error message stating that communications with the phone have been interrupted. I have tried switching ports, clicking CHARGE ONLY, placing it in drive mode.

I am new to Android but not new to flashing. I have been flashing and modding since the Vogue days.
